Another bobber project! And another wasted bed!

Bobber Rear suspension The rear springs are 2.5" wide, and many you can get perches, shackles.....etc. from many of the 4x4 fab places all over the country. You can get ahold of a spring shop and have them custom build you a top leaf, or just get a set of Chevy 1 ton springs and snag the top...

    tire size = mph?

I'm happy with the power of my bobber on 53's. It's no modern cummins dodge, but it moves well enough that I can keep up with traffic. Mine has the dual circuit brake upgrade from the military, and stops decent. I can lock the tires up if I stomp on the pedal at 25 or 30 mph. I'd say that's...

    Electric winch

I have it wired up as 24v to the batteries, hot and ground. I don't use the winch much but it's held up fine so far. I also have 12v led tail lights that are working fine

    Electric winch

I have a Smittybuilt 12k pounder on my bobber with 53" XZLs. My truck weighs in around 12k pounds. The truck was stuck pretty good, and the winch wasn't enough to get it out. Never had a winch be too weak before, but then again I usually drive Jeeps. Regardless, the winch was 500 bucks new...

    Official Deuce Aftermarket Wheel Thread

I I run the 1600r20 michelins on 20x11 custom wheels from stazworks in Wisconsin. They work great from 10 psi to 80 psi on my bobbed deuce. I would recommend them. The sidewalls flex plenty when you get down under 15 psi. Truck handles the pismo beach sand dunes great at 12 psi. Give stazworks a...

    tire size = mph?

I've got a bobber on 53's and she has been up to 72 mph. it runs fine. I turned the injector pump up a little bit, it accelerates just fine. it stops as quickly as I need it to. It cruises at 63 or so at like 2000 rpm's and gives me decent mileage. There are plenty of naysayers on here...

Question for bobbed deuce owners using the original box?

I put 16.00R20's on my bobber and didnt want to try to use a trailer bed. We cut the back section off the bed, removed the steel on the back, shortened the tail gate so that I could see cars behind me and then just fabbed up new latches to hold the gate shut. I don't have any pictures, but it...

Just a few reasons it's good to own a CUCV...

    14. The look on the F350 owner's face when you pull his 50k dollar truck out of the mud hole without ever spinning a tire, and then turn around and drive right through that same hole, and don't spin a single of the aforementioned tires. (Not hard to do when you have a bobbed deuce on 53's!!!)...

    Lifting a Bobbed Deuce

Awwww.....come on guys.....you know I wouldn't hand you a case that easily....lol. We had the old car laying around in the back 40. It was cannabilized long ago and was really just a shell, but it sure was a fun time. I just figured once I put a video of somebody actually having fun in an...

    Lifting a Bobbed Deuce

Hey everybody. I got my front suspension done and have put about 200 miles on the truck with the 53's on it. With about 4" of lift and very minor fender trimming, I have not rubbed a tire yet. I put a video up on youtube of me testing out the strength of an old Lincoln Towncar that we...

what should i do. drive or haul it.

I recovered mine from Barstow, CA. I had owned one deuce before and driven them a few times in the Army, as well as LMTV's, tracks and what have you. When I sold my first deuce, I took the new owner around the block in it, showed him the controls, let him take me on a 5 mile ride through town...

    Lifting a Bobbed Deuce

Dang, now thats what I like to hear!!! I'll call my local spring shop today and see if they can make me a pair for the front. I never though lift perches were the best way to go, but I know stack frames and whatnot isn't the best thing either. Lift springs would be my first choice!!! I've...

    Lifting a Bobbed Deuce

I don't think the perch setup will be my weak point. If anything, it'll be that I'm only using One bolt to hold on each hanger.

    Official Deuce Aftermarket Wheel Thread

I got my wheels and tires from Stazworks. 4-5 week build time. Multiple centers and finish options. Shipped from WI where they are made to a terminal near me in CA for $2430 total. Couldnt be happier. Put them on with a bottle jack and heavy duty base....by MYSELF....for all of you who say...

    Lifting a Bobbed Deuce

Drop the spring perches and do what? bolt trailer frame to the bottom of the stock frame? How about stacking the frames? Seems like all of those commonly used options require unproven modification methods and risk. How about a realistic, affordable solution?
