That's going to be an awesome road trip. If you are coming to Rucker for flight school and go through the Blackhawk or Chinook tracks you will probably see me in Warrior Hall North Bay when you do your simulator time. Good luck on your trip and welcome to Lower Alabama.
Scrap run from Sim Bay
Adrian A our High bay has space for 20 of those simulators and there is only 1 space open. The roll up door in front of my Deuce is 16'X20' the ceiling is at 40' floor is 120'X600' so yes it does make a 13000 lb truck look small.
Scrap Metal Run
I thought I had posted this but didn't see it, but it was a scrap run of parts removed from Flight Simulators being upgraded to full motion from instrument (non motion) simulators at Warrior Hall in Daleville AL. The Simulator in the pic is a UH60A Blackhawk.
I installed the console I've been working on for the last couple of weeks and hooked up power. I just lucked out on the location where I mounted the 2 meter radio so that it clears the T-case shift lever. Now I have to mount a 2 meter antenna.8-)
Deuce Locking Console continued
Update on the console, Mounted the cigarette lighter outlets, finished internal wiring and mounted a floor. In the truck I connected power leads for the console to the slave connector. Next installment will be installing in the truck.
The currents are on the input side, I don't plan on running anything 12V that requires a lot of current mainly for cell phone charger, GPS anything else will be 24V.
Locking console continued
Dipstick, I got my converter from Amazon for 36 bucks, it is a 720 watt unit from PYLE audio (PSWNV720) 30 amp surge 15 amp continuous and they are still available under 40 bucks (barely). The next addition is a 2 meter ham radio, power switch for the converter...
A Place for my Stuff
Finishing up a locking console made from the original driver seat box and top cut from passenger seat back. The lock is a mailbox lock from the big blue hardware store. I mounted the 24V to 12V converter. More to follow.

Took the Deuce out for a run to Daleville by work to pick up a tool then on to Enterprise to get building supplies for the newest item on the honey do list, cement block and concrete (1 light trip in the Deuce or 3 trips in my pickup) lots of fun riding around lower Alabama.
I have been using a Lincoln weldpak 3200 I bought at Home Depot in 2001, I have welded steel from sheet to 1/2", multiple pass for anything thicker than 3/16" using .024 to .035 er70 wire and 75/25. 5 years ago I got a setup to weld aluminum using 4043 wire, switching to electrode negative and...
Cab floor and seat mount
Cleaned up the flaking paint on the passenger side floor then primed with rusty metal primer andtop cotedwith bedliner rolled on. then i finished the mount for the seat, made up of 2x2 tubing with 3/8 16 bolts welded in and 2" flat stock for reinforcement. The seat is a...

Brake air press switch
Islandguydon Pics as requested. i wired it in parallel with the original hydraylic brake light switch which has been intermittent. the small screw in the center of the switch back is the adjustment, it originally had green thread sealant but it broke free without...
Brake light switch adjustments
Mike929, I don't see why it wouldn't work but it might also be some dirt or corrosion inthe switch, i checked mine when i adjusted it before I hooked it up to my shop compressor regulator, it is pretty new so no major build up just a quick brush and some WD40.
