    My Mep-803a standby generator project

MEP-803A still working great. I wanted to get a cover made for it for a while, but just had a piece of plywood on it. After a bunch of searching I ran across this cover for outdoor furniture on Amazon. It works pretty darn well, and for $30 I can't complain...

Ha ha, I got one a few years back, I was looking for another one recently. I love it and regret not getting another one or two.

Too much of a good thing, MEP-803a wouldn't stop!

MEP-803A ran flawlessly this last storm for over 24hours. went to shut it off and it wouldn't. went inside, messed with a few things and came back out, a few min later is slowly died. After a search I found this thread, sure enough I went out and the black knob / bolt linkage had rattled...

    My Mep-803a standby generator project

Thought I'd pop back in on here with a report since it's been a while. After the recent storm We lost power, I ran the 803 for 52 hours straight, not a hiccup! Ran the whole house, well, two freezers, fridge, even had mama run the dryer when she needed it. I reworked my setup so I can now...

    My Mep-803a standby generator project

I had a heck of a time figuring it out. I did have one of those clear plastic in use covers that I could have made work, but I didn't want it sticking out 3-4 " past the exterior.

    My Mep-803a standby generator project

I didn't see a setup the way I wanted exactly for power so here's what I came up with. I wanted it to fit close to flush, and have the ability to be unplugged. I also didn't feel quite comfortable with running a 50A plug even though it would have probably been fine. I went with 4/4 SOOW from...

    My Mep-803a standby generator project

Demoh Thanks for this info! I seams like I'm over thinking it. I like the idea of a twist loc better then a straight plug and hadn't seen the CA type 50A style. Heard Head I just swapped out all the return lines for new and also wired up the gauges for light per info on this site!

    My Mep-803a standby generator project

Our main problems around here are stink bugs, lady bugs and mice. I don't have many trees at all around where the Generator will live so hopefully it will stay clean. On another note: I've been doing lots of reading and it looks like 50A plug ends are used but to be really sure I should be...

    My Mep-803a standby generator project

I had some time to work on the 803 here's my ss screens installed. It was a bit of a pain to cut them perfectly to wedge in there and also to get the screen in place. I'm happy with the results. I did have to temporarily remove the hand throttle cable to get the one in on the left. A simple...

Heater and grill cover parts identification help

:???: Thanks, I re looked at the 151 heater kit picture, and I have almost every piece in that kit. I wish I had a picture of a deuce heater setup laid out to compare. I'm

Heater and grill cover parts identification help

Nice deuce! Ya that sure looks like it. What is the other cover for? it almost looks like it would fit over the winch, but that doesn't make much sense to me for a winterization kit.

    My Mep-803a standby generator project

Batteries sit in there nicely it's close but there not touching the engine at all. Tie down is just snugged down, it's not titling battery or anything. Thanks Hard Head for this well throughout list of improvements. We have a big problem with stink bugs and ladybugs here, I like the...

    My Mep-803a standby generator project

Thanks for the reply's, I've been searching and reading tons on here but missed some of the info on the fuel well nut threads. Darn! I'll learn my way around here eventually! I had ordered from GMG and it's taking for ever and it was expensive. I Just read the tread about GMG being expensive...

    My Mep-803a standby generator project

Well, still waiting on my fuel tank well nuts, and last night we lost power! 803 wasn't ready...but at least I have a backup generator for the backup 803 generator so I was ok. :) So talk to me about fuel senders and gauges. My tank is drained and dry, but fuel gauge is still reading a little...
