Oil Pressure Light On + Engine Stall = ???

Thank all for replies. I basically left the thing all winter... too cold and miserable to work on it out in the street. I'm thinking that the oil pump isn't that expensive... just going to replace it. Anything else I should be looking at when I start digging into this? Obviously replacing...

Oil Pressure Light On + Engine Stall = ???

All, long time no see! My M1009 has been running just fine lately with no problems. It's winter in Chicago and I haven't taken it out much.... the last time I drove it was during a snowstorm for the 4x4. Due to some car trouble with my gf's car, I was needed to use the CUCV to get to...

    m1009 Spray Foam in roof??

anybody link to the under hood insulation thing they used? I cut pieces of Quickroof to stick in the recessed areas, but half of them just fell off (never to be seen again) and it didn't seem to have made much of a difference anyway.

    Coolant leak from PS Pump???

I did the thermostat and hoses this past summer. Balancer and belts were the summer before. I'll think about the lift pump and definitely any gaskets I come across... will have to check the TM's to see which ones I'm likely to run into. Kinda leaning against the lift pump as I have an...

    Coolant leak from PS Pump???

Took my M1009 to a shop hoping they'd surprise me and be able to fix the wailing bearings in my gov-bomb quick and cheap. I asked him to have a look at this leaky bolt while he was at it, and he said he'd have to take a lot of stuff off to get to it, may as well do the water pump as well...

Rear Diff Smells like a Sewer PLUS: ID these diff parts???

Skinny: Well, if you've got an upgraded axle with 3.08 gears that'll drop right in, selling for a couple hundred $, available in madison, WI or Chicago, IL, or somewhere along I-90, this weekend. I'm all ears. Also, hindsight is 20/20. "should've taken it back to the original shop". Well...

Rear Diff Smells like a Sewer PLUS: ID these diff parts???

Yeah... this is what's so infuriating... is the whole reason I bought the NOS rear axle assembly (had it shipped via freight) was because I figured that'd be the last time in my lifetime I'd have to bother with the stupid thing. New brakes, new axle, new everything. Should've installed it...

Rear Diff Smells like a Sewer PLUS: ID these diff parts???

I don't suppose anybody in Madison WI has a spare rear axle? or knows a good place to take a differential to get fixed? I'm hoping it's something like a bearing... something cheap...

Rear Diff Smells like a Sewer PLUS: ID these diff parts???

Well, I guess I got a year and 4 months out of it... The rear diff started whining maybe a month ago, and now it's a full-on howl. Taking it somewhere Thursday morning to have them check it out. :(

    M1009 as a daily driver

Hasdrubal: Link to this insulation? My job has me on the road a lot now, and spending hours on the highway in my M1009 has me wishing it was just a *bit* quieter.... I've got a rhino-lined floor and I wrapped the wheel wells in QuickRoof which helped a ton. At least, no more heart attacks...

    advice for rear window crank

Same thing happened to me during a freeze (though I don't have a huge water tank in the back of my truck). Not looking forward to replacing that whole mess, though it will be nice to have a new one that actually locks. I live in a bad 'hood and always make a big show of pretending like...

    Coolant leak from PS Pump???

It does appear that this is the source of the leak. I tightened it down before my drive up, but it's still dripping. I have some "thermostat gasket-maker" that I'll try next. (not sure what I was thinking when I bought that... just used an actual thermostat gasket instead)

    Coolant leak from PS Pump???

No. Way. I will try that, though I had no idea the bracket could be loose (no clattering like when that pesky top bracket loosens/breaks) I can't believe they had the bolt go into a water passage! WHY???

    Coolant leak from PS Pump???

Help! I have to drive 3 hours for work tomorrow and it looks like my truck is leaking coolant from the power steering pump? It's dripping from the front, lower, passenger-side corner of the bracket, but I can't seem to trace it. At first I thought it was coming from the thermostat so I pulled...

Change that small coolant hose on your 6.2 liter CUCV engine...

I actually just replaced mine this weekend too. Great minds think alike
