I have had 12.5 XLs on my stock duece rioms for 6 months now. They seem to work fine and don't lose air or anything. I put radial tubes and new flaps on them . I have not flipped my rear hubs yet and may not.

Canvas questions
I think that the buckles are used to store the sides of the tarp when you roll them up. I have seen photos of M35s in Vietnam with the sides rolled up leaving the top on. I did it one summer for parades and it works well.

angle mount with the circle
The angled mount is for the NBC detector device. It sat on top of the platform and then plugged into the reader in the cab. It was to detect nuclear, biological and chemical warfare agents.
Will the set up really affect the wear on the bearings? I don't load it...
5 ton super singles
I have seen some supers singles on hub and look like they have not been reversed. I saw one that someone in the Tired Iron club in TN bought and it looked like the hubs were not reveres but it had super singles.
