Think it's time for a rollcall as there have been many new additions to the mil-surp drivers club, plus others that have been around a while I never knew about.

Please give a general location, what you drive or are working on, and what parts or help you need.

Location: Silverdale/Poulsbo
Motor pool: 1986 M1009, 2008 M1101 Trailer, and 2006 M1165 HMMWV. All currently roadworthy.
Need: Two 12 bolt HMMWV wheels in good condition and other small parts, and open to any HMMWV parts.

I rarely make it into this sub, generally spending my time in either the Deuce or HMMWV areas, which are what I have.

Either vehicle is constantly being worked on, but I'm really hoping to have the hmmwv "done" by Spring so I can turn my attention back to the truck.

Hello, I'm in Everett, Washington. A group I am a member of just bought a 2001 M997A2 Ambulance they will be shipping to Ukraine.
It is missing the RH rear half shaft and brake caliper and needs some other work. I have done some work on it and I'm looking forward to learning more about this Humvee and will be asking questions when I can't find answers here.

Yup, has to be 20yrs old
They said that on the phone? Weird.

Call back and talk to someone else. Many of us are insured through Hagerty.

Nope, that's a thing with them. I wouldn't want to be left holding the bag for a claim if things went south even if you secured coverage from an underinformed minion on their phone line.

I know it's a different platform, but I am covered through Progessive as a commercial vehicle for private use after many other agents said they couldn't cover me. In this case, they just didn't want to cover me. The agent I worked with fully understands what it is and what I do with it, and was willing to click a few other boxes on paperwork to make it happen. It appears that is all it is, just some agents don't know about it.

I'm confused. What's a "thing with them"?

Hagerty is the broker, they don't actually insure my vehicle. I forget the name of the actual insurance carrier, but it's legitimate insurance.

I know it's legit coverage if it's set up correctly, but the "thing" with them is they need it to be 20 years old. It was clearly explained to me when I tried to insure my M1088 through them before it was 20 years old. That's why I ended up going with Progressive.

I would be extremely skeptical of one of their agents offering a policy otherwise. I would expect they might be unaware of this, as surprising as that might be.
