Brake Bleeding ideas/failed ideas

I needed to replace my master cylinder on my 54 M37.

I do have the front disc brakes.

Brake bleeding has been beat to death on line in all forums, but I thought I was going to rise above.......

After I did the swap, and I believe I bench bled the master cylinder correctly as it did develop pressure.

I have gone through 3 large bottles of brake fluid with the wife doing the pedal work. Always back to a 2 pump to get a firm pedal depressed about 2-3".

SO,......I picked up a check valve for brake bleeding,......and came up with the idea to run tubing back into the reservoir.

I pumped 10 pedal strokes 10x each bleeder, and produces no air bubbles.

Worked super slick, and lost almost nothing for brake fluid.

BUT I AM JUST BACK TO STATUS QUOE.

Thoughts, help?

2 different issues.

Your bleeder system seems to work for you. You already spent the blood and treasure to set it up so enjoy. I have gone all over to the pressure bleeder route with catch cans. Motive Power Bleeder makes it so easy for any of my vehicles.

You wrote it takes 2 pumps to get a firm high pedal and that you have front disc brakes. To me since you have the system bled you could have the rear drums not adjusted out enough. The rear drum adjustment is what sets your pedal height.

THANK YOU! I am half outta my mind with this. I will take some time soon and do that.....never thought of that as being the culprit. Thank you again.
