Have an MEP-803A. Can start it with both the start, prime control on panal, and with the dead crank switch but cannot shut it off without pinching the fuel line to cut off fuel. Not getting any power to the 120 outlets. Cannot get acceleration from the frequency adjust knob. Only half of the guages on the panal show activity. HELP!!

Have you given it a visual check to see if everything looks to be in place or if anything looks disconnected or missing?
Is your Fuel solenoid missing or the arm disconnected?
Also, when starting it from the Dead crank, your electric fuel pump should not run, if it is, perhaps you have a wiring issue that is powering things that shouldn't be getting power from the dead crank.
Even the e-stop button doesn't shut it down?
I think it's going to take a bit more investigation to get us moving in the right direction.... What about posting a video so we can see more details?
I'd like to see what the fuel solenoid as well as what the control panel ( gages ) are doing when you start it from the dead crank.

You need to help us a bit.

1. Have you seen this gen set when it worked right?
2. If so, have you made and adjustments, or repairs to it?
3. Like Ray mentioned, so video of this set in operation would help, as well as maybe a bunch of pictures take of the inside of the control panel and the engine doors.
4. Have you downloaded the TM's for this gen set, and maybe read some of the operators TM on how to start and run it?

I will attempt to run it again possibly Monday 29th and make a video of starting and trying to shut it down. Had it for four weeks at a diesel place but I don't think he knew what he was doing. He rebuilds diesel pumps but I think this was a liitle too much for him. Have it back now and will try myself with the help of you guys. This is kinda wierd cause I can prime, and often start at the control panal. Cannot get and reaction from the frequency adjust. Moves the cable on the solenoid but nothing happens. Once it starts the only way to shut it down is pinching the fuel line to cut off the fuel. Some of the guages on the control panal read and others don't when running. Was told by one the the frequency level needs to rise to get hem to react.
Thanks.
