Yeah I've actually come across a few videos of liner installs that have gone wrong when done by professionals. I try to be a do-it-yourself kind of guy but I also like to know when something is out of my league. This is probably one of those things.... Might have been in the realm of...
...the sprayer on the interior as well. I'd say after 25 uses the sprayer clogged, but allowed me to finish the job first.
It'll be covered by dynamat (or in this case noico high heat barrier) on the underside then a thermal blanket so I wasn't worried about looks.
Sent from my SM-G955U using...
I am using several different kinds of Dynamat. The first layer on the ceiling, doors, and rear quarter panels is Dynamat Xtreme. The Second layer on the ceiling and first on the rear of the cab is to fill the valleys is called Dynaliner it comes in different thicknesses (I'm using 1/2"). The...
I'm in the middle of sound deadening right now. I have done the doors, rear quarters and ceiling in Dynamat. I have boxes of the stuff ready to fill out the rest of the cab and the underside of the cab sitting in my garage (not to mention new door gasket material). Even so, with just the first...
I totally agree about road noise and tires. I will look into other options.
From what others have said the dynamat will deaden thuds but won't do a great job of damping sound. Some people have recommended using acoustic foam to help absorb more of the noise.
I think if you dynamat the interior and doors you will see great improvement. It will never be bmw quiet without ear plugs. I have added sound mat to my doors, next up will be the cab and roof. Currently my wife and I just do ear plugs for long rides. Overall it’s only a little louder than...
...I don't think there is space to do this.
Cab:
- under cab:
a. thermal blanket
b. spray underbody coating
c. bed liner
- Doors
a. dynamat
b. acoustic foam
c. custom door panels not made from metal
d. fill voids with expanding foam (area above the window)
- Floor
a...
I'm in the process of sound deadening and insulating the cab. I've painted it with a sound deadening and thermal paint. Next I'll put dynamat, then mass loaded foam, carpet, then a suede headliner to soak up more sound. Putting the same thermal paint above the engine, as well as high heat...
...and coated the inside with sound deadening spray, ordered new reflective insulation, then covered the outside of that with 1/4" of xtreme dynamat sheets. Its quieter now but I have a long way to go.
Covered much of the a pillar area in the dynaliner, muffled the engine a lot, but not as much...
I am very curious as to how you plan to extend the frame on the 1088 model. From the photos of the trucks I see, the rear frame tapers down, unlike the 1083 that is open in the back. Also, is your 1088 an A1? I will subscribe to your build thread as soon as I see it pop up! Very much looking...
...of cab, interior of cab, bedliner on interior and underside cab, fire foam insulation in hollow frame columns. Up next will be noico (cheaper dynamat) to the entire cab and high temp dynamat to the engine bay, followed by a thermal blanket riveted above engine. I'll do a similar treatment to...
Has anyone put something line dynamat or some other sound absorption product inside the covers on one of these?
Mine specificly could benefit from a rattling junk look over. Bseams like everything thats not bolted down is rattling and clanking.
This is similar to what I was thinking of though not as thick.

I think a layer of the classic hard rubber 1/4 inch dynamat with a layer of foam...
Don't even try a muffler, its a waste of time. I have the ASK on my personal 002a and I updated the soundproofing inside with dynamat for car audio systems. It made a noticeable difference. If you want quiet, go with a 802a. They are a lot quieter than the 002a.
...like you have it covered, just plan on insulating everything you can and sealing up holes as it will need it in order to cool the cab. The dynamat and copies are great for noise reduction but do little for heat. I wanted to do the same with used evap but we have no junkyards left in the area...
