Nice pictures.
It looks like it was raining before you took the photos. Does CARC paint react to water the same way this paint does, or is it more uniform looking?
If I'm not mistaken, the Scrambler was the CJ8 (slightly longer than the CJ7).
The CJ10 was available as a pickup for the civilian market - albeit mostly for export - and was used as a tow vehicle for the military market. It's the one with the unappealing front grill, and square headlights on...
I can't seem to find any information on this anywhere online.
Does anyone know the dimensions of the CJ10 or 10-A?
I'm mostly interested in:
Track width?
Wheelbase?
Overall Width?
Overall Length?
The more I learn about the Unimog the more I like it.
I'm taking all this information in.
My only question at this point is, where can I test drive a Unimog? Do I test drive a new one just to get a feel for it, or is the difference between a 1970s $4000 Unimog and a brand new 2010 model like...
I am considering purchasing a Unimog rolling chassis which will form the basis for a Kaiser M715 Jeep.
Before I start researching my buying options, these questions come to mind:
1. Is there a limited number of tire sizes that fit the Unimog's axles? Most of the Unimog photos I've seen...
I was at the New York Auto Show yesterday, but the Nukizer wasn't on display there. You might want to call in ahead and check before you go to the one in Denver.
If it is in fact on display there, it would be nice if you could share some photos.
Have fun.
P.S. There were no Hummers at the...
I have four copies of The Wealth of Nations and I have no idea how I ended up with so many.
Anyway, where does one draw the line between selfishness that which does more harm to others and self-interest that is a survival instinct?
It's not a matter of worth, it's a matter of courtesy. It's like eBay auctions, the bid on an eBay auction could be increasing by $1 per bidder, then the resident jerk comes along 2 days before the auction ends and decides to bump the bid up to $140 on an item that just an hour earlier closed...
A similar HMMWV body was sold back in September 2009 for about $3500.
This time around, when the bidding was around $700 someone came along and bid $5200 on all four bodies. They will probably end up on eBay for close to $15,000.
Why is it that people have to hog such deals? Leave some for...
I can't help with the ID per se, but here are two useful sources:
The first one is the M998 series technical manual. The second link is a series A2 technical manual (M1113 - M1167). Both are up to date.

I hate getting into political debates as they usually lead nowhere, but isn't it ironic how misguided resentment works?
If some foreign army invaded Florida, killed your family in the process while claiming they're in there to liberate you, would be thrilled?
Just today Obama killed a family...
Those are exactly the wheel I'm looking for.
Is there any way to get an NSN on these wheels? Did they come standard on the CUCV? Does anyone have a manual number for the CUCV? That would be the easiest way to get the NSN, I think.
I think it boils down to what you're going to be using it for. If it's a military piece of hardware you're after, then a genuine hmmwv is the ticket. If you're looking for a capable vehicle to go four wheeling and/or camping, then a salvage/burnt Hummer H1 can be found for a low price and...
