I have been watching the auctions and see a few Mep-0004 and 0005's that have 6,000 to 7,500 hours on them. At this many hours do they still have use left in them or is a total rebuild required? Thanks, Bruce
Can someone tell me briefly what is meant by separately excited and exciter included? I am sure it means how the alternator knows when to make power but that is about all I can guess. Is this a reliable method and easy to use or just a big problem? Thank you for any answers. Bruce

I bought the above genset in 30 kw. I know it is 3 phase and want to know if it can be converted to single phase 60 hz. If not can I still use it for emergency power for my home when the electric goes out? Thanks, Bruce
