Im gonna try using the original artic kit water crossover with this: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=PRS%2D1053&autoview=sku (damn expensive part). I think this tstat water outlet should clear the belts (hopefully). Id probly have to find or make a custom upper radiator hose...
if ya droped in a 6.5 engine with the newer smaller style altenators and kept the wiring setup stock (dual 100amp alts 12/24v ). Can a newer altenator be easily setup by a local alternator shop to have an isolated ground to work with the system?
the kits still not installed also im short the dash braket that the controls mount to. If i ever figure how to fix the issue with a serpentine/artic upgrade ill post the part numbers.
t-stat crossover & artic kit
Can a artic kit install on a 6.5 serpentine drive setup with a single or double t-stat crossover housing without any hiccups? The cucv artic kit comes with a special crossover housing for the 6.2 v-belt setup with a port on top for a hose that connects to the...
cucv build-up
http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/projectbuild/131_0609_1986_chevy_one_ton/ just figured id post this link where a 1008 gets a 4" skyjacker lift and they mention the dual shock mount being a issue "The install is pretty straightforward, and we only had a few small hiccups, such as...
12 vs 24?
Can 24 volt plugs be used if wired to the 24volt terminal without the resiters? that way you could still slave start also when the plugs are used both batterys will be used instead of 12volt plugs hooked up directly to 12volt block without resiters with only one battery being used...
Someone on ebay built this custom roll cage in his cucv looked pretty cool. Seems that the sun visors might not have room to move with the mod though. Heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Military-M1008-CUCV-Troop-Carrier_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ80765QQihZ006QQitemZ160047579124QQrdZ1
Nice M1009. I flat towed my M1008 the same way bolted to the shackle bars. towed fine the whole 200 miles from jersey using the ball style hitch so it didnt bang at all.
Hmmm not 100% sure Ive heard its around 16mpg with 36"s. How does Alfa Heaven bolt on 36" tires without a lift or fender trimming? I didnt think anything over 33" would fit.
not yet, plan to have the starter checked in the mean while im just testing and checking wires and tightening/fixing connections. A little over my head since im new to this electrical stuff but Ill keep at it.
couldnt you just switch over everything to the M1010 setup? 2 different generators on the passenger side of engine and the ac compressor on the drivers side?
Has anyone ever heard about a deep water fording kit for the cucv? I think that would be a cool modification if done right. maybe use parts from a humvee fording kit? Just an idea
