M1009 Oil Cooler Lines And Leaks

I should have clarified on the title that I meant ATF cooler line, but yup, that's what I am losing. I will see if I can post a pic up on what it looks like, because I am a little confused not gonna lie. Its soaking the bell housing, but I don't think its a seal. Plus the passenger spring is wet...

M1009 Oil Cooler Lines And Leaks

Hello all, I know I am returning to an older thread, but I don't want to spam up the CUCV forum with the same problem until at the least I uncover more details on the problem I am having. I have had a few problems come up that I had to take care of leaving me without much time to work on the...

    Static Pinion Angle Thoughts?

Yeah and get this, they admitted that I was not the only complaint. The "revised" their parts about 3 weeks ago, and in that time 2 other folks needed the same lift kit, and they all complained of the same problem, but they are leaving me in the dust. I have about 10 buddies that have their kits...

    Static Pinion Angle Thoughts?

Yessir, I called, double checked, and triple checked. there is a clear stamp that shows which side was front too. Problem was that they added shims when they shouldn't have. When I called they admitted to it being the manufacturers fault, but they will put a $100 loss on my end for shipping if I...

    Static Pinion Angle Thoughts?

That's what I was thinking... It seemed a little strange to me because I thought I would be throwing the front off. Plus in the instructions for my lift kit, they suggest grinding the U-joint stops, but I don't even think they are close to stopping...

    Static Pinion Angle Thoughts?

^Roger that! Rough country kept telling me to do so but I really felt like it was not so necessary for only a 4" lift! :shrugs:

    Static Pinion Angle Thoughts?

A very good point indeed. I am trying to figure out if I can make the stock setup work, but I do want to upgrade one day, but with money being a bit tight at the moment, I think it can be done since I do not believe I am exceeding 15 degrees on the driveshaft. Thanks for the input, it is highly...

    Static Pinion Angle Thoughts?

Hey all, hope you're all gearing up for a great 4th of July soon! I had a quick question in regards to my pinion angle. I bought a Rough Country lift kit (4" new leafs all around) and it was a botched kit. I was on the phone with a few reps and they told me about how after they "revised" the...

    Electrical Problems with Flashers

Didn't know that! That's a very useful hint actually, I am going to see what's going on. Whenever I had this problem in the past, the flasher wouldn't work, but in this case, everything works, so I wonder what it could be! I'll check the grounds, and if I turn out dry, then I'll dig deeper. (I...

    Electrical Problems with Flashers

I am going to take a look at it first thing in the morning! I appreciate all the input thus far folks! I recall on an old Chevy LUV I had, the flasher bulb had a similar problem but only when I cut on the headlights, this one seems to come on whenever the instrument panel is on, which leads me...

    Electrical Problems with Flashers

Good day everyone, I am having an electrical problem with my M1009 that has been bothering me for a little while, but I just can't seem to get down to the bottom of this. Here is my description followed by a few questions... The problem is the fact that my passenger turn signal light (and side...

M1009 Oil Cooler Lines And Leaks

Oh man! I had no idea! That might explain why the parts that I looked up never matched up haha... But I think the engine oil cooler line might have a small leak then, because the wetness is hard to identify the color since the leak is pretty slow overall, but it is enough to make a drip, but...

M1009 Oil Cooler Lines And Leaks

Hello everyone, hope all is well. Got a question regarding the stock TH400 oil cooler lines on my M1009. I am getting down to where my transmission is leaking (losing 500ml per 3-4 weeks). I think that my oil cooler lines are suspect. The reason why I say this is because I am seeing some wetness...

Going up on driveway, then stalls????

Posting a follow up. I used a bit more than the suggested amount of "diesel kleen" and the problem seemed to have gone away completely. Not sure if this is just a bandaid over the real (potential problem that may sooner or later arise, although for now, I have experienced great luck with this...

Going up on driveway, then stalls????

I heard it could be a sticky governor in the IP, I might try putting in some diesel kleen (maybe a few times) to see if the situation gets any better at all. I'm baffled by how smooth this truck runs and starts and idles, yet showed signs of weakness here. Will follow up with results

Going up on driveway, then stalls????

Going up on driveway, then stalls???? (SOLVED???) Hey all, got a quick question that I need some opinions on. I have a 1985 M1009 CUCV that's pretty much as stock as can be. I noticed today that when going up on my driveway (which is a little steep to be honest) from a standstill, I would rev...

    Undercoating Thoughts?

Good stuff, thanks for the info, hopefully I can pick some up when I get the $$$$... that stuff doesn't cake with dirt, grime or mud at all? The only offroading I ever do is a dirt road really! Sorry for all the questions :)

    Undercoating Thoughts?

I have like a dozen cans of the rust reformer and I as thinking just to slap it on anything I have access to! The chassis factory pain is solid and didn't look like it's damaged in the slightest. I'll probably pray it everywhere, then hit it with a wax product. (Gonna add a 4" lift soon to her...

    Undercoating Thoughts?

I heard of that stuff, and I wanted to use it... I know the frame and wheel wells could use a fresh coat of paint. Think I should do that first then use a wax formula? Think that a few coats or rust reformer will hold up to the elements/salt for a few years? Appreciate the input!
