Has anyone tried to install a tachometer? I thought a guage package out of an M35 would be the nice way to present the extra guage, but the mechanicals of that would have to be addressed. Maybe the M35 with the continental gasser had such a thing?
I have replaced the coil with a new one from Sam Winer Motors. Robert was very helpful. The motor was still not starting and I went through the whole distributor with the ohm meter [complaining] Everything seemed okay, ground was where it was supposed to be and 25+v was where it needed to be...
I discovered that my ignition coil went belly up. The ohm meter indicates opens between the various connections and I compared it to the one on the Unimog in terms of internal connection points. The question for the day is: can i run a 12v ignition coil from an old chevy or should I wait until...
All,
Instead of brake cleaner I used starting fluid as it was sitting near by. i couldnt find any leaks around the carb, so i tweaked the timing a smidge. the truck will make its maiden voyage tommorow night around the block. the tank has a fair amount of fresh gas in it now. i am hoping the...
All.
It runs!!! I now have the M135 in the driveway and plates are coming Tuesday. Tires on wednesday, and the brakes bled on Thursday. Off to a ham radio party on Friday!!!
I have noticed that the truck idles well, but there is a hesitation when you hit the throttle. The Carb is brand...
I was at NAPA today asking the very same question about those crush washers. They sell them in variety packs. However, only one in the package would fit, so I passed on them. I was planning on using teflon tape and the old washer maybe with a little gasket goo. I am trying to get my M135 ready...
How about headers from Clifford performance?? they do have hotrod parts for this engine!
Look on ebay or Memphis, ABlinn possibly as well.
Hi,
I went to Memphis Equipment and found that they have 3 M135/211, or more specifically shells of such trucks. The red truck there has a floor that wouild be considered okay, but certainly not stellar. I told Mark that someone may call. The concern was getting the floor out. You may wish to...
Gusc,
I would like a copy to. Maybe you could post it to this website instead of e-mailing to everyone and it then can be used for a reference.
Thanks,

Hi,
I was so looking forward to it, but I missed out due to familial obligations. Grrr...
I will be making it to the unimog festival in NH later on in the summer and also Weare.
Nat
I will be visiting Memphis equipment in PA Thursday and Mark says he has 2 trucks in the yard, but he isn't sure if what I need is on them. I can check the floors for you when I am there. They are closer than Sam Winer to us in NE.
Thanks to those who answered. I called ABLinn and he did not have much at all in what i was looking for. I called Memphis, ($) and they have all the exhaust parts I need, so I will stop there on my way to Ohio. I am still looking for the spare tire rack. The PA location is on my way more or...
All,
I purchased a running M135 last year and I am in the process of cleaning it up and having it look a little more original. I have a couple of questions and I am looking for parts as well.
It seems that these trucks have a mystery hole in the hood on the drivers side. What was it's...
