I'm VERY serious about my upcoming purchase, but before I pull the $15,000 trigger I need to know how much general/monthly or yearly maintenance $$$ is required for a 923? There is a company in California that refurbishes these trucks and just about everything is rebuilt or new on the truck...

Ebay has two 813's. They actually both came from same company in SanClamente. Restored from ground up. Im not the most mechanically inclined person so i need new...... or as close to new as I can get.

With these trucks, most prefer manual trans in the 813?

I have $15,000 and need some opinions. 813 or 925? Which is more reliable if the both were restored from ground up? Parts availability? Is the 925 have upgrades the 813 doesnt? You know, those types of ?s I love them both, but want to make the best purchase. Thanks

The 813 is on ebay in California. 923 is at easternsurplus.com and is the solid olivedrab

I have found one of each that i want to buy. BOTH have been restored from ground up. Is 813 generally more reliable than 923? I have JUST enough mechanical knowledge to be dangerous. I value everybodys opinion before making my purchase soon.

I love the bigger lookn 5ton. Im not blessed with mechanical knowledge, so i need to buy something that has been rebuilt and in good running condition. I was curious if the M35 Cat engine is more reliable the the 5ton Cummins.

Im sorry for sounding like an ill-informed idiot. I did know they are a little different. Thanks for the speedy responses! I do want the 5ton and now know the diff of a 923, A1 and A2. It would be used for parades and mild offroad. Is the turbo worth it?

HELP! I am GOING to buy a Deuce soon. What is better, a 923, 923A1 or 923A2. Also, does the turbo "whistle" liike the older M35's?
