Well, I went ahead and changed out my transmission oil 15w-40w for dexron III. I changed the external filter 1x after changing the oil 3x. I haven't changed the internal filter yet, it should be here today. The problem is that the transmission worked before I did this, now it won't go...
Well I tried the CTIS system again. And found Gear lube all over the back-back dif case. Looks like I'll need a seal in there sometime soon. Anyone have any experiance with sourcing/replacing these seals?
Well I would walk on one because I can walk on my rusty steel one. Also my reason for for wanting a replacement would be RUST. not weight. So do you think soldier B doesn't walk on his stock fiberglass hood?
Thanks, this is the best description yet.
On a side note, does anyone have a used, take off wheel valve they would donate/sell cheap so I can take it apart and rebuild one at a time so my truck isn't down for a period of time? Thanks.
This is interesting, however, I wonder if it may work in reverse. By sending a low pressure pulse to open the tire valves. Some of the reasoning is that, we are sure the air comes and goes thru the same hose. And the brakes want/need at least 60 psi to work, so that would explain the 90 psi...
Yup, when I previewed, I could poke around all I wanted. It was 0 degrees out and we spent 2 hours looking around. Granted its not Barstow, but I would think your experance should be similar.
I had slow leakage problems also, this happened even with the CTIS off. Took the truck to a heavy truck tire shop that had a guy there that used to be military, and they would work on the wheels/tires. We found slow leaks on 4 of 7 tires. Replacing the wheel "O" rings and the valve stem "O"...
I have a few questions on CTIS Theory, not how to operate it, not how to remove and replace parts per the TM (I read that part). I’m interested in how it’s supposed to work at the design level so we can troubleshoot our problems more intelligently.
So here are my questions, and some...
I have found Fastenall to be a good walk in source for hard to find larger stuff. And a Company call McMaster Carr out of Chicago to have all the real strange stuff. (S.S. left hand thread metric) etc. Both are not the cheapest but not to out of line. Farm and Fleet sells english hardware in...
I recently bought mine directly from quick-start for 18.50 per bottle, they came with gaskets also. The only catch is a 25$ hazmat fee regardless if you order 1 or 20. This is the cheapest I found them and I looked for a while.

I took mine off and measured it. The threads are METRIC for crying out loud. M-3 x .5 I have attached an image of the drawing I made of it. I can also send you a .dxf file format via PM if you need it. I could possible make you a replica without the rubber for a resonable price.

I Just found the canisters of Quick start ether here Quick Start Products & Solutions | Diesel Engine Ether Injection Systems for 18.00$ each. However shipping has a 25.00$ haz-mat fee whether you order 1 or 24. This is the best price I have found and I have been looking for awhile.
This plug is used to do an electronic diagnosis of the operating systems, Now I think the only thing on the A3 that this "diagnoses" is the transmission, and maybe the CTIS? ( I have read that the cat 3116 engine is fully mechanical) YRMV. The TM calls it a (STE/ICE-R) simplified test...
