We could probably use the spark plug adapter (lower piece in the middle) hooked up to a running truck and touch the other end to someone's tongue to wake them up a bit.
I hope I don't get in trouble for saying this.........but check ebay. There have been several sets for sale on there lately...
It was pretty bad and not really the most fun I have ever had, but it needed to be done. There is junk in the carburetor. One of these days I may try to start the blue truck. It was dark by the time we got the other truck out last night but I think the rat nest in it may be as bad if not worse...
We had to jerk on them a little bit but not too bad. The blue truck rolled great. The rear wheels on the green one would roll a little then lock for a little bit and then release and roll again. The front wheels were free. The ground was moist so the back wheels slid ok. We moved them 500 feet...
Okiem1008morrison and I got the last truck out of the woods this evening. I need to clean a huge rat nest out from under the hood still to see what is there. This was a big job getting both trucks out. Lots of good parts though.
Tomorrow if weather permits, I may get the second truck pulled out of the woods.
Can anyone tell me what these markings mean. I wasn't in the Army so am not sure how to decipher them.
Here are some more pictures Butch. I don't see anything that says Air Force. The rebuild tag says Pueblo OD. It looks like there is a crossed cannon stamp on the data plate that is similar to what I have seen on older US Military rifle stocks. I'm not sure what it is called.
The engine was...
M135 Recovery Started
Here are some photos of getting the new M135s out of the woods they have been hiding in for 15 years. OkieM1008morrison has been helping me a lot (Thanks Man!!) and it is his M35A2 that is pulling the M135 out. Hopefully by tomorrow or Saturday we will have the other one...
Did I send you a copy of the parts list several of us have been working on? If not, PM me your email address and I will send it to you.
Keep up the good work on helping us find parts to use!!
The front brakes are back together and working great as of today. I capped off the rear lines until I can redo the brakes on the back axles. Still stops great though
Here are some part numbers for 1-1/2" bore wheel cylinders. Boots-NAPA 14509. Cups-NAPA 14451.
I did manage to get most of the...
The gasket pictured in that link does not appear to be right for our 302s.... if the picture is actually what gasket you would get. I have part number FPG OS3472C from NAPA for the pan gasket. As for the pan extension, I do not have a part number for that gasket yet.
If you find some better...
I forgot to add that I tried a fuel sending unit out of an M818 that I got the oil pressure gauge out of. That sending unit is, I believe, the same as in the M35A2. The float bends toward the front of the truck instead of toward the passenger side of the truck and will not work, since the float...
The oil pressure gauge out of a 800 series 5 ton works. They are 0-120 psi. The military gauge hooked right into the civilian copper tube that was already installed and worked perfectly.
I believe that 41121215 is correct. This truck also has the early tailgate intact. I wish 556 was in better shape. Both were driven to where they sit 15 years ago and left to deteriorate.
Sorry the pics aren't the greatest. My camera quit working and these are cell phone pics. When I get the...
Two more M135s
The work continues on my M135. I had the brake shoes relined locally and am waiting on wheel cylinder boots to come in so that I can put everything back together.
I the mean time. I found two more M135s that were about to be scrapped and added them to my collection. Here they...
