    Engine shut down while driving

I guess I have to look on the bright side. I will bring the stamp set and some aluminum. I can make a plate that says rebuilt 11 2008. Other than taking off the bed or the cab I think we will have turned every bolt on that truck.

    Engine shut down while driving

I pulled the vavle covers and nothing looks broken. I don't have much experience with multis but I have built a few small block chevys and some mopars I even built an overhead cam rice rocket for a friend. Tomorrow we are going to tear into it. The IP isn't pumping. I did not hear any bang...

    Engine shut down while driving

Let me correct my earlier post. The rockers are not moving. I thought this might be caused by the camshaft not turning. The IP is also not pumping fuel. I just finished reading TMs and I am going to take a look at the truck. Has anyone ever had trouble with the gears or keyways on the cams...

    Engine shut down while driving

While driving downt the road at 50 mph the engine shut down like the fuel was cut off. After inspection through the oil fill cap, the camshaft is not turning. The truck has 23,000 miles and 600 hours. Should I swap out the engine or troubleshoot the cam problem. I have other engines available.

Pulling tractor with a deuce engine

There are plenty of videos on youtube. Just do a search. Maybe JP got tired of all the it can't be done, it's a low rpm low hp motor threads. I don't think tractor designers designed their machines for pulling competitions. Some people take what they have and make something happen with it.

    HP and Torque ???

The tractor pull guys get some good horsepower out of these engines. Most of their mods are too extreme for the street, but when mine blows up I am going to port the heads and run bigger pistons. I might try out a sheetmetal intake to isolate it from the water and put on an intercooler. I...

    Good or bad idea...

Get some 2 by 10s or 2 by 12s that are longer than your wheelbase. Put them in the bed and drive the Astro on them. It will take some weight off the gate. You might want to try it out on the ground over some bricks or something before you try it in the bed. Maybe jack it up and put stands...

    Deuce oil leak Need HELP

When I did the clutch on my truck the rear main was dry, but there seemed to be oil comming from the starter area. The back of the engine was dry, but there was oil on the right side of the bell housing. We cleaned it up and put it back together. If anyone has any ideas let me know. I will...

    Anyone Running a 12v Winch?

http://www.warn.com/industrial/severe_duty/pn63421.shtml Warn makes 24v winches. If you already own the 12v and aren't going to use it all the time, it probably won't be worth the cost of the 24v parts. If you roast one battery from winching you can always use the good one for the winch and...

    worn out clutch

That clutch looks worse than my 29k Army miles. The only reasong I know that is the Army boys dumped the clutch a few times and ruined the trans. I had to change it out after a 12 MPH recovery. Good thing it was only 20 miles. I got a new pressure plate and clutch and had the flywheel...

    Newbie Exhaust Question

I put the NAPA 21470 on my deuce. Under 40 is quiet but the engine and trans noise obove 40 requires hearing protection. I am going to dynomat the floor, firewall, and hood. I am driving across the country with my wife, so the sound has to be at a reasonable level. Before I installed the...

    Typical oil pressure?

My oil pressure was at 15 psi at 2000 rpm with a 60 psi electrical guage. After breaking off the sending unit in the block to check it with a manual guage, I had 60 psi hot at 2000 rpm and 20 at idle. Now FMJ doesn't have a guage in his box anymore, but with some luck he might have a new one...
