The turbo will not add a ton of HP. I believe a 6.2 is rated 160HP or 185HP for the military version. Not sure where those 25HPs would've come from? Only difference is the EGR valve. I don't believe the EGR robs the engine of that much power? A 6.5 TD is rated at 215 HP from the factory.

Made that tool after fussing and studying what going on with my rebuild. Double check the cam action for the E-brake when you think you got it figured out.
Building the gripping part.
Used the piston nut part as template.
Next the compression parts.
Paint makes it all work better. LOL...

Rebuilding Rear Calipers

write up.
Excellent write up. However having issues with a rebuild, the thrust screw...
I eyeballed the pulleys and I will give them a wiggle and roll when I change the belt. I found it the TM and I am above 196,??? I don’t have ac but I have the bracket and a pulley where I believe it goes. Said I needed the 112” belt. I couldn’t find a number on my belt anywhere and now I can’t...
I was driving home in my M998 A1 being careful to not go over 55mph (just had my power steering unit and fanclutch replaced from a HMMWV outfitter), when suddenly a loud popping/knocking sound appeared (listen to video). I pulled over immediately and had it flat-towed back to the outfitter...
I have a really dumb question. To get into my hydraulic fanclutch, do I need to remove the radiator? I can't get my hands near it with the fan shroud in the way. Is there an easy way to get to it?
I replaced my switch also. Determined it wasn't the problem because if you jumper the temp switch leads, the fan should disengage. Unfortunately mine doesn't. Thanks for the idea though.
I had cooling fan that ran all the time. Previous owner had bypassed the Cadillac valve. I ordered Cadillac valve and temp sensor. Installed them both properly. Fan would disengage one time from cold start and them come on and not go off. I was about to start looking into the clutchfan for...
I will try to keep this as short and understandable as possible. About a month ago I noticed that my 1045A2 temp was going up to 200 degrees and staying there and the fan wasn't cycling on and off. i did the normal check of unplugging the TDM and it was engaged all of the time. Took the clutch...
The cadillac valve tested at 20 ohms. I do not notice any movement on the fanclutch plugged or unplugged. The truck was not overheating. Funny thing, I did notice the hissing sound at times while steering, didn't really think anything of it. There was a distinct sound change when on the...
The fan in the HMMWV operates backwards from everything you expect and you need to keep this in mind when working on it. When the engine is cool there should be 24v power to the cadillac valve sending fluid pressure to the clutch disengaging it. It's when the engine reaches ~220 degrees the...
This is a HMMWV... Not a CUCV.
4L80 E transmission rigs are already to go. Problem are the trucks running the 60 Amp alternators or not connecting the 14 Volt lead on 200 Amp equipped rigs.
The fix is add equalizer $$ or upgrade to 200 Amp alternator $$$$ or stop robbing off the 12 Volt...
Might want to isolate the problem before isolating the valve. The "hissing" sound is fluid bypassing / regulator orifice when energized and amplified being mounted to the foot well box. Doesn't take much to dampen the sound. Old bicycle inter-tube works well.
Place a 0-200 PSI gauge in...
well after several weeks chasing codes and low power it was discovered I had a bad Engine Control Module, pulled the one out of my 1 ton, dropped the tune I had built for the HMMWV into it and she damn near got away from me in the driveway!
HOORAY she is "on the road" I took it for a 45 mile jog...
They're awesome. We haven't been able to drive much because of various things wrong-brakes, wasn't shifting, clutch, leak, etc. But one weekend a month has only ONE issue left-brakes are locked up. M35BEN is a solid AF mechanic and knows these things inside and out, way better than me.
So here's the results everyone has been waiting for:
Over a 4 second reduction in 0-60mph times. 4 seconds!!!
So let me go over the entire install/kit/performance and give it a review.
INSTALL
The install is straightforward and anyone can do this. (I'll expand on that in a bit) with...
The update on that starts on page 7 post 138. I'm ready to bolt it on and continue. I think I have everything to put it all back together now. Except the actual AC lines and well the rest of the AC install. More on that to come. Moving on to the rear half doors next. I have about 5...
I did a shit ton of research online and read that there is a 1977 454 7 blade fan that would bolt right up with the clockwise rotation.
Could a HMMWVfan work that has the V-Belt?

So you tried the cucv dual alternators...
Most viscus clutches turn 20-30% of pulley speed when disengaged and 80-90% when engaged, of course with the hydro it's 0 and 100%, considering the cycle times of the hydro clutch on my M998 100% would be unnecessary.
24" would make that fan probably undesirable for my application as I would...
