I got this cargo cover at a show some years back. It was sold as cucv pickup, and while it’s similar there’s some differences. The tie down straps instead of the turn buttons seems to line up with the hardware on CUCV II series trucks. It’s 8ft long and about the right width for a gmt-400...
Might be worth looking at the fuel shut off.

This is a pretty common reason for not running after sitting a while.
I’m selling off some of my extra carbs for the continental r6602 engine. I have 5 zeniths left and a few holleys still. These were bought surplus in the 1990s and have been in storage since. Linkages and such may need to be straightened.

Years ago I found some pictures online of an m543...
The topmost pipe is larger than the rest of the rack. That one measures at 3.5" outside diameter.
The rest of the pipe measures approximately 2.875" outside diameter.
2.5" and 3" SCH 40 pipe should match the outside diameters perfectly.
I know it's not how your diagram is set up but I measured...
We ended up selling this trailer last year. I believe there's another of the same model stored outside in the trainyard at the National Museum of Transportation in St. Louis.
The m816 has good power steering from the factory so no issue there. Another way to add air brakes is swap out the axles for ones from an m939 series truck. They bolt right in, and if you don't mind spending some more money you could try to find a USMC truck with Detroit Lockers in the rears...
