Here I am. Time to make the donuts. If you are old enough you will know what that means. I will report back later. The weather is great. Be Safe and Good Luck.
Just like Christmas. My rebuilt injection pump is back. HAPPY. And this is the tag from the pump I sent. Before. and the tag has been removed and a new tag in place. Complete with a date which I like and is useful. You will be able to tell the truth about injection pump age. I will be up...
At a glance I would say you have several things going on there. I would tear into it and service a few things in that front end. The axle U joints look dry and worn out. I am currently working on a similar issue on an M1009. Check this out...
Not stupid at all. The one in question is at the rear top side of the left (drivers side) head. Towards the center near the vacuum pump. Common wiring issue. The updated switch is readily available and the plug is a common plug used on many GM applications. Newer GM vehicles have that plug. Some...
The 4 red LED slits should light on B/O. The yellow single slit should also light when the brakes are applied and the switch is in B/O position. You may have the wires reversed. Check back and report. Good Luck. Be Safe.
I wanted to show how nice and clean you can make a yoke so it is very easy to install a new U joint. No senseless hammering and beating on the new bearings and caps. Which one would you rather work with? Easy as 5 minutes and 1 piece of 80 grit paper. Next the drag link. I measure end to end and...
After getting the wrong outer axle u joints and waiting for the new ones to arrive I proceeded to clean the replacement axle stub and the original stub. I have 2 clean ready to use axles now. New seals are available. Also the small axle seal and a new replacement NAPA 27553627 711818. Cleaning...
You are correct. It is M10 x 1.5 metric thread. All the bolt holes with the exception of the bell bolts are metric. The bell bolts are 3/8" x 16. I have attached a picture of a past repair to the same bolt. They must have lost the correct long bolt. They threaded one into the head and a nut and...
That head bolt hole looks like it was an issue in the past. Good Luck. A welder and a pointed bolt may work. A bit tricky but can be done. Careful Slow and Steady. No rush job.

As always I am HAPPY to help out. Take Care and Be Safe. And it's a FelPro Gasket. That's about the best you can get no matter where it's made.
It was also suggested to grind the caps off. I passed. I can see ME in sub zero nor'easter changing the failed U joints. maybe not but the correct ones will be here another day. Do it right the first time or what's the point? They look more like it. And the BLUE rubbers. They have to be right...

Check this out. I did some repairs to this nice M1009 back in December 2019. Shows my T nut and screw and end results. Go thru the thread. I have a few pointers in there. hope they help. Good Luck.
As I was doing the reassembly of the front axles I checked out the U joint caps. They fit the axle just fine but will not go thru the knuckle. I caught a help trying to hammer them thru. NO. The U joints they sent were Chinese NAPA P377. I took the pictures and sent them to the parts store. I...
The lights you have with the black wires and metal tags are not original GM lights. They will work. The back ones have 3 red LED slits as park lamps and you must also note in the center is a single yellow slit that is a B/O stop/ Brake light. The 3 wires to each rear corner will be a semi ridged...
Yes. I have done it many times. Get an 1/8" drill bit and drill a hole in the steel dash where the axis center should be on the cable guide. Get a T nut a 1/24 T nut from a hardware store and a sheet metal screw long enough to fit thru the T nut and attach to the steel dash. Grease the T nut...
It is a single circuit board and a royal PITA to deal with. I have fixed hundreds of them and still hate them. Many are delaminated and have broken circuits and poor connections. And at this age the plastic is as fragile as a potato chip. I can fix them and have only ever replaced a few circuit...

Take the sockets out and clean the contacts. Get them to light with a test light and wire and then install them. Yes a 1/2 turn is good. No force needed. Good Luck.
After an unknowing person was involved they wanted only new parts and were sad to find out that the parts were not available anymore. Even the after markets were not available where they were looking. I offered the parts needed to get this issue rolling. I have many parts and like to see them...
Another set back for my snow plow project. Pressed out NOT beat out. It was insanely tight getting the U joint out. I only noticed the break when I went to reassemble. Not my truck and my problem. Be Safe and Enjoy the nice weather.
