I just pulled the axles on my new 915a1. One wheel is locked up and won't move. When I got the axle out of that side it was broken. I can easily get a new one at the junk yard. What kind of house keeping should I do in the center section?
I got a c clamp style press from the auto parts store. I can do wheel studs and small u joints with it. It works great and wont wreck your threads. I used it when I flipped my hubs. I don't know if you will have room to use one on the front without pulling the hub.
Does anyone know what feet I should use to tow bar a 915a1? Also is a med bar big enough? I will be looking to purchase these parts in the near future.
Dealing with corporate GL can be a pain. Waiting for your euc. to be approved can take a while. Usually the EUC wait has nothing to do with GL. After you get through all of that, dealing with Mike at Sparta is a true pleasure. He is helpful and a great guy. Good Luck!
I rigged up a reverse light on my 817 by tapping an air switch into the reverse side of the sprag air shift. I think you could use the reverse light switch on your new transmission to run a couple of solenoid air valves. This would shift the sprag when you shifted to reverse. You might also...
Have you thought about going the other route? You could chrome the whole truck, leave the wheels and tarp stock. I think that would be a parade hit for sure!:D
Dump a ton of baking soda on everything under the hood and then mist it with water. Let that sit for a while and then rinse again. Every piece of aluminum under the hood will look like **** if you don't. It will prob. eat up those nice new aluminum lines on you ac. kit also.
Pull a drive flange on the front axle. Pull out one axle shaft on each rear end. Stuff a coffee cup in where the axles were to keep most of the gear oil in. You might want to strap the steering wheel to keep the wheels from turning too much. Good luck. This is if you are flat towing.
When my truck was doing that it was the plastic return lines by the fuel filters. Park it some place clean and let the in tank pump run for a while. That should turn the air leak into a fuel leak you can find.
I would split the generator out and sell it by its self. You should be able to get 4500, 5000 for the truck and trailer. If you keep it all together you are going to end up giving the generator away.
