What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Andy: The ArmorAll I used on the bezel is the old, original: "cleans shines and protects" It does make the black bezel look almost new. I polished the lens with rain-x Headlight Restorer because I had some on hand. It has been a disappointment on military tail lights. Next time I will try...

    M998 Rear Roll Bar?

I agree with Jeremy. It bolts to body. It raises the center of gravity(not Much). Remember someone is going to have to lift the 160 lb. spare up there! The Rhino spare tire carrier is my favorite.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Pulled dash bezel, polished the instrument lens (not too successfully) replaced a few bulbs. Scrubbed the bezel with ArmorAll and tooth brush. Looks much better and everything works!

Removing civvy paint and retaining military numbers/markings?

I used 400 wet, Was able to salvage enough to read it but enough to preserve for new paint job. The later decals are easier. I used lacquer thinner to remove covering paint which was not CARC.

A nice one. Good paint, radial tires, good seats, 3 point seat belts, minimal dings on radiator, new transmission pan, pretty clean inside with good mats, cargo cover on back, etc You did great!

    Prices finally dropping.. phew!

I posted earlier that I did not care about the value of my M998. I think the hobby will benefit greatly from the sale of HMMWV. We need something to revitalize the collecting of military vehicles.. No more jeeps in crates, etc. This is a hobby for many of us and we need to look at it that...

    Just purchased 1991 Humvee M998

Do not know the answer but my M998 from Atlanta auction had stenciled USMC, reg. number, no step, etc but no decals and no stars. The USMC did not do the stars from what I have read. I would look at the data plate and the serial number stamped on it. If the date does not match the serial...

    M1101 and F150 successful recovery

I've made this suggestion before. To lengthen the safety chains you can remove the hoisting shackles and fasten them together to get several inches of length to chains. Safety wire the ends of the hooks.

    Hello and introduction

Yours looks great and is the latest production I have seen! I paid more for my first one but prices have dropped. In Texas there have been 40+ on some auctions which seems to bring the average price down. I've bought some for the radials and runflats. You paid 1/10 of what the government...
