I believe there is a post on here about this from a few months back. Did you try searching? Sometimes there not to bad to find. Sometimes there a bear.
Did you check and pull the bulbs to see if they are plugged in all the way? or if they could be bad? I got a truck that 1 the ground was unplugged. And the other had a bad bulb lol.
Ok I found 1 post that talks about if the Trans cable was not allowing the throttle to go all the way forward and was sticking on a m925a2 he also said after it was adjusted and lubed the 2nd gear to first was no longer harsh.

Is the engine getting to full rpm ? Does the engine rev freely? Does the transmission seem to both down shift and up shift correctly? Does your turbo spin freely?
Thinking back. My m35A3 did that to me a few times. Ended up being the power on switch was bad. Try cycling it off and on a bunch of times then try starting it.
It sounds like you have a limited slip differential instead of a locker. Lockers are extremely heavy duty and give you posi all the time. They unlock momentary when they bind in hard cornering. I had a locker jam once on my m920. I thought I had broken a axle. But when I took it apart I found...
