Dallas Arms Collector Assn MV show June 9/10

Blueduce, Sorry about that, we must have posted the pix at the same time. YOUR PIX are way better than the ones I took. And again, congrats on winning third place. That's two wins in three events.

Dallas Arms Collector Assn MV show June 9/10

DACA said they plan on doing it again next year. It was a great show. TONS of guns and knifes. We had a great time for sure and I was kind of surprised at how much interest there was in my MEP-003a generator on the trailer. Plus we got several other shows that we have been asked to...

Dallas Arms Collector Assn MV show June 9/10

First off, I'd like to thank Blueduce who won THIRD place in the MV show. He beat out a USMC deuce! WAY TO GO GLENN. It's the SECOND win for his deuce. Here are the pix he took Glenn won THIRD PLACE! The rest of the vehicles here are not members of the MVCC (we are hoping they will...

Questions for those that have done the electric fuel pump mod

http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/36435-my-cucv-spin-fuel-filter-mod-2.html see posts #35 and #37 (has two pix) mine came with a 5-6 psi electric fuel pump added. NO mechanical block off plate. It worked so well, it's one of the mods I do to any CUCV I own. Makes bleeding the system a...

Dallas Arms Collector Assn MV show June 9/10

Well, we did our set up today. My M1028A2, M1009 & MEP003a on trailer. Blueduce's deuce. Other vehicles are two WWII jeeps (GPW & M38 I think) and a mutt, plus another deuce. it should be a great gun show - they are expecting 15k people over two days, maybe more... If you have the time...

How accurate is your fuel gauge?

Not trying to give you any grief, but a full tank to you is 17 gallons? Mine takes almost 24 when it's on E... I'm pretty sure that the M1009 fuel tank IS at least 25 gallons, which means you should be able to get 24 gallons (maybe a smidge more) because you will never be able to pull ALL the...

How accurate is your fuel gauge?

OK, so our club is going to be at a gun show/MV show... http://www.steelsoldiers.com/upcoming-events/89063-dallas-arms-collector-assn-mv-show-june-9-10-a.html one of the requirements because it's indoors is no more than 1/4 tank of fuel... SO, I purchased a 12v electric fuel pump. Mounted...

what do you use for outback comms?

Congrats, you just made this CUCV related. GOOD JOB. And yeah, you got the right idea. Having a hand held is great and having a CUCV mounted radio and antenna DEFINITELY are the way to go. That way, no matter where you are you can pretty much 'get out'... just sayin...

what do you use for outback comms?

HAM license is so easy to get these days, you really should NOT be without one. Tech license is the first step. You should be able pass the test (I had to take it twice) fairly easily. I think the cost for the test when I took it was $35. then get a radio or three and you should have plenty...

    Tools on the road

You don't need no stinkin tools IN THE TRUCK. Leave them all at home. If your truck breaks, lock it up and go home and bring IT BACK WITH YOUR TOW BAR. Then work on it in the comfort of your shop. Just a suggestion... it's what I do. If you own MORE than one CUCV, then a tow bar is a must...

    My M1010

How well does the 'hot water heater' work? I've got one but have not used it very much. It looks like you've got it mounted in a good place and wondered if you like it.

    No start help

Have you changed out your BATTERY CABLES YET? Chances are high that they are corroded INSIDE the plastic sheath... Just something to think about.

Back to square one on the MKT

My MKT weighs 3880 as she sits right now. That did not include the MBU's and three beverage dispensers, four food transport containers, and the floor mat. So 6k lbs is PLENTY of room. I will NEVER load this puppy up with much more than that. Extra 'stuff' will go into the back of the M1028A2...

Back to square one on the MKT

Well, I did FINALLY get both trailers (MKT & MEP) registered in Texas as FMV's with bumper numbers. I had to jump through a couple extra hoops (certified weight & VIN inspection) and in the process stopped by North Texas trailers and showed them my MKT-75A. The reason for the stop was so they...
