    Won trailer for M1008

Thanks, I just posted over there. How long after auction close till they send an invoice? Do EUC's on trailers take as long to process? Just wondering how long till I have to pick it up...hopefully not in a snowstorm!

    M101A2 Picatinny question

Happy day, I just won a M101A2 trailer to use with my M1008. It is in Picatinny NJ. Would there be anyone in the area that could assist me in getting it onto my trailer when the time comes? I envision putting it upside down on my 5x8 landscaping trailer (Which can easily handle the weight)...

    Won trailer for M1008

I don't know if this is the best place for this post, but I just won a M101A2 trailer to use with my M1008. It is in Picatinny NJ. Would there be anyone in the area that could assist me in getting it onto my trailer when the time comes? I envision putting it upside down on my 5x8 landscaping...

    body armor/run-flat tires?

Chain mail was primarily developed to stop spears, arrows, knives etc. The rings 'caught' the tip of the weapon, and prevented it from going through, by dissipating energy as the mail was placed under tension-stretching. I think ballistic projectiles are a different threat, with a lot more...

How well do the brakes on your cucv work?

If your power steering works ok, the pump is probably not the problem. Sounds like master cylinder seals failing. If the old fluid looked like coffee, the 'solids' came from somewhere.

    Bench seat foam question

I have been driving my M1008 around the hay meadow to gather stones for a stone wall. When I hit bumps, I feel like I am going right through the seat foam down to the seat frame. I looked under the seat, and see an assortment of cheap thin foam stuffed in there. It appears that the original foam...

    MB/GPW vs WC

How tall are you? Sit in a Jeep for a while before buying one. I love them, but at 6'3" tall, my line of sight is at the top of the windshield frame. So, I cannot drive one and see safely unless I curve my back and put my head down. Not a comfortable way to drive. My WC56 has plenty of headroom...

    Hauling an M101A2...how?

I will be trying for an M101A2 trailer before winter. I won't have tags to tow it home. My only trailer at this time is a 5x8 open trailer with 3,500# axle. If I go to pick up the M101A2, with a good jack and a good come-along, heavy duty straps, and tools, would I be able to somehow get it up...

    CUCV 2 on GL

CUCV 2 Suburban That is one rare truck! I have a civilian 6.5 diesel Suburban, and I really like it. With the CUCV 2 military version, you can go to any military vehicle meet and be sure you will have the only one there! And you can be prepared to do verbal battle from all the folks who...

    Alternator readings question

Electricity was never my favorite thing..... I have a question on my charging system. My GEN lights are both nice and bright with key on, engine off. When the truck is running at idle, the GEN 2 light is on fairly bright. As I rev the engine, the GEN 2 light gets dimmer, but not completely...

Can anyone haul M1009 MD to CT?

I am wondering if there is anyone that would be able to haul a M1009 from Ft. Meade MD to Canton, CT zip 06019. If so, what would the cost be? The trip is about 340 miles one-way. Thanks.

    Towing questions before moving

I may need to move a M1008 about 300 miles. I have a 1999 Suburban K2500 6.5 Diesel, heavy duty 8 lug axles, receiver hitch. It is not wired for trailer brakes. Options? Should I flat tow the M1008 with a tow bar? This would require tags on the M1008. Should I locate a trailer with surge...

    Explosive Projectile Crates for M1009

Sounds like a small hole for the size of the shell. Maybe the shell was inert, and the explosive they used to detonate it made the hole? Wish there was a picture of it prior to destruction.

    Still not sure...

Just something to think about......tampering with motor vehicle VIN numbers is a big no-no. In CT we have to get VIN verification to register vehicles (Only if bought from out of state I think). Any DMV inspector here would impound that truck in a heartbeat if he saw a VIN tag from another...

M715 on tour to Pocking Germany

My CUCV is running just fine thank you!

Now this is a nice thread! Maybe some folks just researching these trucks before buying will be more willing to buy one now! That could be a good thing...or not!

Anyone in CT with top bows I could measure?

I bought a cargo cover for my M1008, but am not having any luck finding the bows to mount it on. Does anyone in CT have a set I could measure? Then I could bend up something that would work. Thanks, Hal
