    HMMWV 6.5 Lift Pump Life

You could....... civy pumps have a simple vent hole......... get it in deep enough water and you can get water into the atmosphere side of the pump....... run a hose off the military pump vent tube up behind the air cleaner with its own termination separates it from the system , diesel fuel...

    HMMWV 6.5 Lift Pump Life

I rerouted mine. I get it in deep water occasionally.

    HMMWV 6.5 Lift Pump Life

I might add..... while one is messing with the pump it might be a good time to separate the vent hose for the pump from the vehicles system.... why?.... when it does leak it will not dump fuel into the hubs and diffs to ruin your day. My 2 cents.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Muriatic acid will clean it right up........... NOT FOR THE ACCIDENT PRONE TYPES!!! clean up and dilute with plenty of baking soda....... keep a 5 gallon pail mixed up first for first aid. Its nasty stuff but works wonders. A heavy piece of plastic to pool the piece in works, when through...

M998 LOWER REAR BALL JOINTS LUBE

IF I'M WRONG someone will chime in for sure, BUT all the ball joints have a grease fitting. I would look again if I was you! I think someone didn't screw the zerk in or it "fell out". My trucks all have zerks on ALL the ball joints.

    HMMWV Texas Title Info

I think what you are quoting here is in reference to commercial trucks. They can be plated across a wide weight range. This allows the enforcement officer to have a truck replatted at a higher weight$$$$ than is indicated on his registration and plate if the truck is caught overweight. This is...

    Oil filler neck removal

Remove the right inner splash panel to get to the tensioner to loosen the belt. The back side of the balancer has 3 or 4 large bosses that a wrench fits on to easaly rotate the engine.

New Goodyear Wrangler MTs appear to be available again

In the true spirit of I don't know any better I believe I would start looking at the local construction and supply companies to scrounge up a piece of pipe and make these myself!

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Squirt bottle of water.... squirt the belt under the pulley that you are hearing... between the belt and pulley. If the noise stops its the belt....My 2 cents......

Pressuring fuel tank to prime fuel system

Inspect inside the tank, maybe remove and clean it if there is any foreign matter or debris , replace all the fuel lines, remove and clean the fuel filter housing and all check valves or remove them, there are several. "VACUUM" fuel to the pump, between the IP and filter. WAY too much...

Looking for a shop in Seattle/King County

As other have said"Get in touch with Steve" he can probably help with the transportation also. You can't go wrong with the guy, knows his stuff! My 2 cents.

New Goodyear Wrangler MTs appear to be available again

Find yourself a "4 WHEEL drive shop" that works on JEEPs . Off road stuff. They can help you out. A regular tire shop hears" two piece rim" and they turn white! Goes back to old style truck rims that used to kill people quite regularly. You can do these yourself but I would not recommend it...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Easy to tell if it got in, turns the lube a milky like color. When I pulled the vent off the top of the pump there was no indication of fuel but it had got to the right rear hub. I have to give credit where it's due. I followed the lead from another post on here about the hubs. Sure enough it...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Check your hubs!!! Right rear first, the fuel runs back thru the vent line and contaminates the lube in the hub. Ask me how I know.
