Finished painting from the windshield forward. This is the prep and paint work for the rest of the ambulance. The cross on the roof was awkward to do. I have ordered paint masks for the truck unit markings etc.

The Mrs General and I went thru Yuma and had a great time. I am going to look at the real estate in that area on a whim and who knows what might happen?

What a wonderful thought. Arizona ocean front property... Moving to Arizona is more than a strong possibility. I have two daughters in Tucson, one daughter in Phoenix and my dad grew up in the Globe, Miami area . My commanding general and I recently looked in the Tucson area for a 1.5 to 2.5...

I bought a FOR PARTS ONLY stripped M43 (no engine, no trans, nothing under the hood at all/ The only thing still there was the two axles and transfer case and body. The key was that the entire rear was 90% intact. (No personnel heater or heater controls and no ventilation fans or motors. This...

    Premium Membership Explained

I have few posts but use the SS site A LOT. I have gotten more from this MV site than any other, anywhere. I recently donated to help restore the TM section in response to a thread posted by someone else regarding the TM section. I replied that it might be good to donate regularly to assist...

My sentiments exactly! Common sense is a rare commodity in this nanny state with its severe left leaning. This sitiation has even led recent movements to try to divide this state into two or three seperate states!

Pretty stiff regulations on paint formulations and paint spraying in most of California. My county allows acryllic enamel to be sold and used while most other counties in the state do not...go figure? I live in a rural part of California that is 2.5 to 3 hours from Reno, Nevada, or 40 minutes...

Thanks...had a good laugh with your post. I am stenciling the ambulance with the 212th Mash markings to honor the last mash unit to be deactivated in the U.S. Army. This unit was previously the 12th Evacuation Hospital and is the most decorated medical unit in the U.S, Army. The unit was...

I really was perplexed at what color to use. I chose the sea foam green because the white got dirtied up so fast and any nicks or scratches really showed up. As I remember, I questioned myself about whether I liked that color when I was in a Army Hospital in 1962. The interior was a minty...

I have attached some info on the Sea Foam GreenNil Spec. color. The acrylic enamel is so expensive that I got the smallest amount (1 quart)and had the color matched in an enamel by a paint color machine at the local True Value. If you ar enot a purist, that is the way to go for Sea Foam...

In all the research I did (for the U.S. Army only), and in the answers to my questions on SS regarding the paint color for the rear of the ambulance, I arrived at the following; The Military specification says you may paint the interior olive drab (the OD. shade for the era of the vehicle)...

The siren install is not mil-spec. I wanted a siren, but I did not want the big federal fender mount type so I make my own mounting bracket, relay assembly and mount location on the front of the ambulance.

Help get the TM link back on line.

I am in agreement with you, especially when there are numerous posts that are made to denegrate someone elses opinion instead of just stating the disagrement and reasons for differing (which is fine). Instead, we get a mud slinging set of posts that do no one any good. Just my humble...
