Richark,
I guess Im not following you. When we would rail load (or airload) the HMMWV's, the chain binders did not run perpendicular to the shackle. They came off on angles going to the sides, and often a foot or so infront of the vehicle. I'll see if I can post a pic iof what Im talking...
Why do you not want to put stress on the shackles? They are tie down points. When we would rail load the HMMWV's on bilevel railcars, we would put one chain to each of the shackles, and that made the RR guys happy.
I have a similar trailer, a bit longer, but same setup. Works great for...
I just found this picture online, I can just make out the 3 MWO tags above the Shipping/Tiedown dataplate. This would indicate that all 3 MWO's were done on the THIS individual trailer. With seeing the 3 MWO's applied to this trailer, we must assume it is a 1994 contract trailer.
No, there is no provision for a lockout, but I have backed mine up alot, and never had the brakes lock up.. Seems the engineers figure that problem out with the brand/model surge brake they used.
Whats the dataplate on the trailer itself say? Is the contract on the trailer one of the ones listed on the MWO?
Does the trailer have any MWO plates on it? If there are, that MWO on the tag has been done. If no MWO tag, the MWO was not done, IF, I say again IF it applied to that contract #. If...
Wood racks, and I dont care what wood they are made out of, weight a ton. Sideboards by definition are a bulky PITA item to have to make/deal with. Fiberglass is the only way to go in my opinion, unless youre going for a year type "correct" build... Meaning fiberglass racks on a Vietnam deuce...
A "clean" vehicle/trailer in my book means that the current owner has a title or SF-97 in THEIR name. No paperwork could be a sticky situation depending on the states DMV laws...
The sideboards.... There are wood ones, and fiberglass ones. Depending on the mission on any particular day, the trailer may or may not of needed the sideboards/bows/canavas. In my motor pool we had a big pile of sideboards that we would grab if we needed them. If we didnt, we'd throw what...
