M818 Super Singles / Michelin XL Spacing HELP

Funny you should say that.....I was walking around her today with a body shop friend of mine who suggested that very idea. Are there any concerns with turning them around such as the valve stems? Will this take care of the goofy ultra-narrow look at the rear? Looking forward to getting the...

M818 Super Singles / Michelin XL Spacing HELP

Yee-haaa.....guess what. When placed on all six, the clearance is about 3/4 of an inch from the cap, so we're in business. I started this thread when the truck wasn't situated evenly yet thinking that we might adjust in real-time. This whole things tells me that I will have possible rubbing...

M818 Super Singles / Michelin XL Spacing HELP

Thanks for the input. Looks like the geometry of the suspension changes considerably as the truck is lifted and dropped so I'll wait to see how it looks when we're done. Den

M818 Super Singles / Michelin XL Spacing HELP

My XM818 tractor is currently getting a set of super singles with 16.00 x 20 Michelin XL recaps. The installers noted that the rear wheels will ever-so-slightly touch the center suspension pivot point cap. Are different caps available for this mod or do I have to get creative with the cap...

HEMTT Wheel / Tire combo air leaks?

Yesterday I put together 4 HEMTT wheels on Michelin XL recaps (new). I put 80 lbs. in each and let them sit overnight. This morning they each have exactly 70 lbs. At this rate, the tires will be empty inside of a week. What did I do wrong? Thanks. Den Kaiser XM818

    1200 Miles starting Friday! M818

We didn't want to lead anyone to assume that the truck was ready to roll. Honestly, I'm skeptical of photos and wanted to assume the worst case scenario. We're back safely, with the truck, and Geoff will update soon with our tale and photos! - Den

    1200 Miles starting Friday! M818

Wow, thanks for all of the great replies. I should have mentioned that we're getting off an aircraft to get this rig, so we've only so much room for 'stuff.' The machine is from a private owner who has loved this thing to incredible shape. Belts are rubber based so yes, that would be prudent...

    1200 Miles starting Friday! M818

Greetings, A friend and I are driving a low miles M818 tractor 1200 miles starting on Friday the 17th. Aside from the obvious, what special tool and travel considerations would you folks advise for this long ride. I'm bringing a complete drivers manual, tools, VOM, 3/8 I.D. hose and clamps for...

    m818 wont shut down

Not sure if I missed it......where does one get a solenoid for the Cummins 250 injection pump? Mine sometimes won't start. I play with the power switch a couple of times and it will eventually cause a big 'CLICK.' This usually means I'm in business and it will run. It's also sometimes slow...
