    Why are CUCV prices so much higher that Civi Chevs

    I like 1009s because of ease to work on and mpgs,your civy had 3.08 gears and a 700r4 trans which would give you a final gear of 2.31 in od,which would give about 1600 rpms at 65.How did it drive and do on the highway? Im sure not a speed demon but over all where you happy with it?

    Exactly.I find the civy models to be more $ than the mil. units with comparable miles.And civys saw a lot of salt so more rust.

    You can always go back,the only thing left 24v on my 1009 is the starter.The only downside I see for keeping 24/12 v is you have another alt.to keep track of and an extra belt.I like the 24v/12v setup now that I understand it?
