    No title

Look for the registration number under the hood or on the doors and you will have everything that you need to find it's origin. jimm1009

Front axle seals and boots stepXstep

The hubs have two slots cut in them 180 degrees from each other. You need to wipe all the grease out of the outboard area of the outer race in order to see them. It will take an 8 to 10 inch punch to knock them out. A good size it 5/16 diameter. Knock on one side twice and then the other side...

    Tire stuck

If both snap rings are removed then it is probably the aluminum housing against the steel I.D. of the hub but there is some end play in the axle shaft too. To prove that it is not the splines on the axle shaft take a rubber hammer or regular hammer and a block of wood and gentry drive the axle...

Another One Back On The Road

Congradualtions, welcome to the club, and you are now "terminally ill" with the OD Green disease for which there is no hope for cure - sorry [thumbzup] Seriously, let see some pics when you get some available. :D jimm1009

Need (physical) help with wheel rebuild...

Sorry, you asked a question and I forgot to come back and answer it. Went out into the sun for a few hours and played with the truck. Showed the youngest son how to pull poles out of the ground using the Deuce. He grinned the whole time that he was behind the wheel (26 years old). The brake...

Need (physical) help with wheel rebuild...

I have used a heavy duty 40 gallon or so trashbags. The black ones designed for leaves and other yard waste are a little heavier duty. I just wrapped one around the spindle and backing plate and then secured with a little duct tape. You can't save the bag this way but is helps in case of rain...

No lever to actuate front axle

This is probably of absolutely no help now but here are two pictures. Lay down on the ground on the right side of the truck with your feet pointing towards the rear axle and your head about the center of the battery box. If you look up at the angle of my shot you will see a soft airline and an...

Need (physical) help with wheel rebuild...

Since they can't use salt on the roads in your state I would think that the steel part of the lines should be good but certainly you know your truck better than anyone else does. There are three rubber lines (hoses) on the front and I believe only one rubber line (hose) on back (x 2 axles) but...

Need (physical) help with wheel rebuild...

Don't mean to "dampen your spirits" but when I pulled my wheel cylinders, 4 of the 6 could not be rebuilt without boaring oversize and installing sleeves. I installed all 6 new cylinders. If it would help, I can send you a brand new cylinder to replace the one that is leaking for sure and then...

O.K. Enough teasing here. Can you show us pictures of your new O.D. Green toys? :jumpin: What will be on the lowboy trailer when it pulls up? jimm1009 :-D

Need (physical) help with wheel rebuild...

I do not have your particular problems but believe me I understand. Back pain is only one of the dabilitating problems that some are suffering from (me for one). Now that you have explained more about your situation with the truck (and yourself) I'm sure that someone will chime in soon. I wish...

Dash indicator light for convoy lights

This probaly a good way to go. The kit has a triple female Y connecor in it and the light. You may consider putting a cover on the light similar to the bright headlights as those lights are realy really bright at night when there is no cover. Good idea. Post and let us know how it comes out...

    Towing 2 m105a2 trailers?

I did actually think about doing this but 300 miles is too far to do that on all-highway. For some strange reason my better judgement kicked in [thumbzup]. I'd do it in a second if it was out int the country and I only had to go 10 miles or so but as the cajuns say; "notme, no"! Thanks for...

Dash indicator light for convoy lights

There are no extra lights here. The light below the air switch is for the front axle engagement and is standard. The lower left light is for bright head light indicator. The other two lights in line with each other are the night lights for the instruments and nothing else unless someone...

    Hooks base support?

Does anyone know if GL has a forklift at the Hooks Texas base. I have two M105 trailers to pick up and will probably do the flipped transport technique if I can use the forkilft or they will run the fork lift for me. jimm1009
