What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Break out the propane plumbers torch and warm that hinge up and then hit it again with the pb and it will start breaking loose. I had to do the same thing to mine and now it works much better.

    Spare tire hoist project

It's been easy for me to swing it with 55gallon barrel on water in it. It does have grease zerk to help too.

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

I tried to get it to drop but just didn't seem to ...I could get it to go up but not down unless I retuned the clicks back to stock...

    Spare tire hoist project

I too did the harbor freight bed hoist/crane and it works great. I mounted mine on the passenger side so that the crank handle was easier to use when lifting or lowering something when I have the cargo cover on the truck. I also notched my troop seat so I could keep them in use with the hoist...

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

Did mine this weekend.... Ended up with 3.5 turns on the top fuel screw and 3 clicks on the governor springs. Now idles at 850 which I don't care for so I'm probably either going to get a real GSK (3k rated) or do a washer shim mod I found some info on for the MW and P7100 pumps. But I do...

Mntsnow's recovery and building of The Beast

Well the transfer case is working just fine so all I did was pull the "big washer" so the auto-engagement when placing the transfer case into low is bypassed. Driving the truck back over to my storage place I can say I do like the increased responsiveness that it has from bumping the fuel but I...

    PLEASE Assist with parking brake

I'm going to guess it's North Carolina as that is the only Hendersonville I know of unless this is some private compound named after the Henderson family somewhere else.. :carnac:

M939, what are the air lines on the park brake doing?

Good question Doghead.... Yep if it's the momentary fart/venting that's proper but if it's continual or non-existent then something is amiss

M939, what are the air lines on the park brake doing?

Yep...Pulling that parking brake lever is like pulling grampa's finger! Just like it's supposed too! If it's silent then the parking brake is applied then it probably is not venting the spring brakes like it should and thus you are only getting the benefit of the single brake band that is...

Mntsnow's recovery and building of The Beast

Davo, Yes I can see the monitor quite good during the daytime. where I have it mounted I have yet to have the screen wash out from sunlight. As for your other question about airline sizes mainly 1/2" and 3/8" is what I have needed to deal with so far but I do see some vent lines like the...

Mntsnow's recovery and building of The Beast

Finally got some time to work on the beast today. First, I fixed two very small air leaks on the CTIS controller inside the cab on the bulkhead next to the transmission shifter column (one was the black box (pressure sensor) with the electrical connector on it that is next to the two air lines...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Nice Machinist75! I have a couple of those same door mounts due to arrive this coming week. I didn't see the dash one's or are they they same kits just positioned differently? I did a couple of stencils and mounted my personalized license plate. (I only drilled the lower holes as the upper's...
