Buying a truck you can touch and drive is always a big plus.
You won't need an inspection in TX, you'll want to add TCW3 2 stroke oil to every tank (thanks to ULSD), you won't need a CDL or commercial insurance...

I would highly recommend giving the truck an oil change before you do. I only stress this after seeing what came out of mine. I wouldn't want it to run 1 minute with that crap. The oil filters were in ok condition. Both batteries dead.

How far are you away from Drum?
I drove mine about 70 miles last weekend, highway cruising speed 40mph.
Wouldn't want to drive it for much longer than that.
Remember that you'll want to change all the fluids before driving it again.
Since you have a property 5 miles away I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Try it in the driveway and if they ask, tell them it is a non-commercial vehicle.
