The M52a2 has the same engine the duece has right???, Are they lower geared than the M818. Just wondering if the M52a2 pulls better than the M818, I know the 818 has the cummins 250.
I need some input on which gen would work best for supplying power to a house as backup power, and what I would need to do to be able to hook it up to the house, Would the mep002 or mep 003 be the best if either at all.
I pulled a trailer loaded with round hay bales probibly around 35 or 40,000 lbs and had to drop into 3rd several times on small hills, but I hear its normal, averaged around 45 mph, a little fusterating but I got where i was going .
Had the 818 for about 5 months and finally got some work out of her, it does not like hills and the jump from 3rd to fourth sucks. 40-50 mph the whole way which I knew was going to be the speed, but had no problems we will see if the pics got attached.
Just got the generator rebuilt and after it starts gen 1 light stays on but dim, as you accelerate it gets brighter and stays bright while driving. then at adle its dim. what gives.
On mine, thought both batteries were good, lights would come on bright but would not crank, changed out starter relays, changed out the starter nothing. Come to find out the front battery was just plain DEAD. Put a new battery in and it started right up. Check both batteries first before you do...
You WILL need at least a NON-CDL Class B license to drive the m818 with trailer with a GVWR less than 10001 pounds. If you are going to pull a trailer over 10001 lbs GVWR than you will need at least a Class A NON-CDL. The non-CDL's are for instance "farmers" who are not in commerce. To keep out...
I just picked up an MC-2A Air Compresor/trailer, Its one of those air compresor's with the small diesel engine. Has anyone else bought one and had to do anything to them. I got it started today, with a jump (battery dead), and put clean fuel in it. Fuel tank was drained. After start up it...
here are a couple of my toys, 1972 AM General M818 just picked up, everything works great on it, except for a torn seat back cover. And my restored (on a cheap budget) 1942 Ford GPW jeep. it was sitting in a field down the road from me. it took 2 years for the owner to give it up. Free just come...
I have replaced mine about 10 times, dont know why. new batteries, good cables and grounded well, now it will not turn over all of a sudden. tested the starter it is good, starter relay justclicks everytime i turn the key. almost ready to just push it off the cliff.
noticed after turned the screw in, it seems to idle differently, seems to go between 500 and 700 rpms back and forth, and when i push on the accelerator pedel it has a hesitation before it revs up at first, then it seems to rev up just fine . wonder if this solenoid needs to be replaced.
