If going through the plug, it likely doesn't have a center tap for the 12V feed, so it would NOT keep the batteries balanced.
Easy enough to do with a battery balancer though.
I'm not 100% clear on how far you disassembled, but as long as it's out of the cup portion and you can get to it all, then it should be far enough.
After soaking with the solvent and getting what you can with solvent and plastic brush, some compressed air and brake clean to get as much of the...
I'm no expert on halfshafts, but as long as there was grease in the boot, and there isn't anything that looks damaged/excessively worn, I'd put new grease, reassemble with new boots, and run them til they fail. The difference in cost between boots and shafts is more than worth the risk, and...
#1 I can't answer. I did a search for both the part number and the kit it is part of, and neither shows up anywhere as available.
#2 there should be no reason to replace them all if the rest are in good condition other than the boots. A set of boots is a lot cheaper than the shafts are.
#3...
Correct. The only real difference is the A2 has a thicker drag link. The only thing needed to use the A2 idler arm on the A1 drag link is a couple of washers to take up the extra length.
Yes, those are them. You are technically overtorqueing them compared to their rating, so a lot of people recommend you replace them every time you do anything.
Some people recommend NordLock washers instead of split ring, but that's a personal choice.
This is probably similar to the difference between cranking an engine and turning it over.
On more than one occasion I've read where someone's engine will crank but won't turn over, or will turn over but won't crank.
To me both mean the exact same thing; when you crank the motor you are...
with the replacement axles also add new bolts for the axles. More than one vehicle has gotten stuck when the halfshaft bolts backed out and sheared off.
Checking all the bolts with a torque wrench before you go will also be very beneficial.
Just started raining here, and I'm supposed to go help my ex wife move to a different apartment. She's moving into a 4th floor apartment, so 3 flights of stairs with her furniture. I'd rather be mowing the grass.
Every definition I can find online just says the smaller of two gears. It doesn't specify it by any applications.
The definition I find for spur gears is gears that are on parallel shafts.
According to that, it can be both a pinion gear AND a spur gear in this application.
Voltage regulation is taken care of by the alternator.
Depending on what type of loads we're talking about, there are a couple different ways to balance them and have 12V out of them. Easiest way is a battery balancer plus a 24/12V converter.
Examples below
Balancer. This one places a...
Pinion Gear – A pinion is the smaller of two meshed gears in an assembly. Pinions can be either spur or helical type gears, and be either the driving or driven gear, depending on the application. Pinion gears are used in many different types of gearing systems such as ring and pinion or rack and...
If it wasn't a 20 amp breaker to begin with, you don't want to change it to that. The internal wires are typically sized to the breaker, so if you oversize the breaker you may burn up the wires through overloading the circuit.
Depending on the type of breaker, most of them can handle startup...
There is a bit of play in the output flange. There really isn't anything you can do about it because of how short the it is coming out of the differential.
It's not uncommon to have brake noise in these. The scratching isn't good though. Might be a bad caliper if water got into the system, as...
The N3118 is for the 400 amp alternator, not the 200 amp, so no, you can't use it on the 200.
The 200 amp is considered the go to for the HMMWV. The 400 amp is only used for high power applications, like radio shelter carrier trucks or SECM trucks with things like electrical air compressor...
So looks like someone was ejected from the vehicle and then the truck caused an accident. News article doesn't go into details, but a secondhand account posted on facecrook about what really happened is posted below
News article that was linked about it
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knox...
Headlights should go through the dimmer switch, which according to your diagram is pin "M"
Pin "H" service tail lights should also be the same if I am not mistaken.
Pin "L" is labeled "parking lights" which I think is either the marker lights or front running lights, or something like that...
Call your local tire shops that do alignments. I know some of the Les Schwab stores around here can do it, but not all of them have the correct equipment.
Also see if there are any 4WD shops around, as most of them can.
Most should have H1 Hummer in the system to use for reference.
Can't answer that directly, but when I changed out my A2 idler arm for a moog upgraded version, the moog has the spacers attached to the idler arm, not a separate piece.
My A2 idler arm was an angled piece that didn't require spacers.
The bolts in the kit are also a slightly larger size than...
