hard keys or soft gell cover? there were two types. Hard Key kind seemed to last better... the gel ones... not so much so... Motor Homes with similar Alison keypad from that era had same issues. Lots of storys of folk using the end of writing Pens to push hard enough to get keypad to...
minimum Alternator with 200amp output at 24v if your heavy battery usage like a camper, that gets battery charging for Start/drive and house banks. Or off road w/heavy electric winching. Otherwise shrink start/drive to two batts and 100amp 24v will get-er-done
this is why I put in that clip from pullpal....... apparently you can pair them up. There is only one horrible pic have seen of it being done. Its on their website. Unfortunately inside a GIF so I could not capture it.
IMHO if your in a boat to have to fork out huge sums of money... Dump the Neihoff and spend the money on getting a domestic commericial 24v alternator and a 24v to12v convertor to run the 12v stuff. There is some threads in here on this idea. Also Jerrit sells a mount kit... can also get kit...
LAND ANCHORS for winching our size trucks.
What ya'll got and have used? Particularly the BIG TRUCKS as MV campers!
Searched a bit to see what info is out there for trucks as big as Mogs, FMTV's, Deuce and Deuce 1/2 etc. sized Overland/Expedition campers.
Lot of bits and pieces of info...
Check to see if the excite wire is telling the alternator to set abut to do it's thing. Think its 24v. Comes from the Oil pressure switch on the engine. This has been a common issue with A0's. That wire is known to Fubar itself. A few folk have found the Oil Pressure switch to be no longer...
Does your alternator regulator have LED's. Usually it is newer ones... but sometimes you get lucky and the regulator has LED's indicators that flash based on whats going on
well you got that pretty covered. Now guess measure the outputs at alternator and follow the path down from there at any spot you can to see if it drops anywhere?
hmm. now think about it.... how is your ground from alt. to chassis? Maybe clean that up good?
did you read them? Though rules on them are different than many discussions sites..... they do sorta allow it with some caveats. Hence why was suggesting reading them. Apologize if I overstated it.
near bottom of the rules page is the material to review...
For camper am using one from Ambulance because the boxes construction will give cab some protection. Ambo Boxes... ESPECIALLY the high dollar ones of at least 90 to early 2000's.. maybe older; which I was lucky to obtain, are stronger than any expedition box out there.
From the pics I've seen...
is that an air heater or a coolant heater with heater coil to blow heat out?
Just some out of the box thinking if it was coolant... . one could suck some of the heat out before the heater coil by heating a hot water tank, and/or a thermal battery (wood stove bricks) for use as instant hot...
Bryce on fb? ( https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100004330515707 ) orr @Suprman hmmm.... Patrick Foley ..... dang I get mixed on who is who on which discussion group.
actually putting it outside is unnecessary cause its fumes are already plumbed outside with proper installation while LP heaters do NOT pipe any combustion outside. Am in agreement with you..... the diesel ones are safer when considering the overall picture.
ahhhhhhhh that makes ton more sense... yeah...... did hear they were monsters.....
If anyone has one Id be interested in it possible for project stuff-ish.
This yellow truck's mirrors look like any other mirror on newish-ish medium trucks... but if you look closer you see with them being well in front..... this gives the truck a much overall narrowed stance. just thought someone might find it interesting
Will rent kit out .
New these are a couple Grand. Used around a grand and half. Will rent for??? not sure yet. Mail already lost them once. Luckily this time they found it.. Like Autozone/Oriely'sI I got no choice but to have a deposit (cost of new replacement plus shipping )
Can look...
There is enough RV/van life folk with diesel heaters now ...... the sound issues have been resolved in many ways. Anyone worried about that with searching and reading is very likely to find a good solution for them..
