    Its the little things…

Having adds you can scroll past on the margins is one thing, but the popup adds and fake add lure buttons(big button labeled “next” with an arrow) Imbedded in discussions are starting to get distracting and tiresome…

    M1078 Trans filters

The problem I see with the locker method is the inner fixed gear is also the retainer for the wheel nut. Since it is fixed to the splined end of the hollow spindle, it must be removed, and something else used to retain the wheel nut, or it, and/or the spider gears must be very heavily modified...

    Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)

If your current speedometer switch settings are, 1101100101 The new dip setting from the charts for 1/2 the input frequency/calibration number for eco hubs should be 1011001011 or 1,3,4,7,9 & 10 switched on…

    Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)

The A0 CTIS uses the same pulse signal as the speedometer. I suspect it is un-conditioned pulse info right from the xfer case sender as i have seen nothing in the little bit of WTEC 2-3 programming i have seen that indicated that it was adjustable/scaleable in the TCU.

    Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)

Yep, no ctis warnings anymore untill ypu hit warpspeed. The CTIS controller may be able to be reprogrammed. I forget what year/model truck do you have?

    M1078 Trans filters

Well group 55 are C3 pressure faults so something is going on with pressure or sensing that pressure. that temp light is a programmed output generated by the controller and based off of its internal temperature sensing circuitry(sump temp sensor on the control module). The manual says it is...

    Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)

Thanks For the report. The only place 2x hubs are a benefit is if you are trying to start and move a VERY heavy weight up a very steep incline In 1st gear. Everyplace else they really are a hindrance. Removing them also removes the ~10% of power transfer loss those gearboxes incur in...

Gauges and Sending Units Caterpillar/ M1078

No its not the same sensor. This the gauge sensor. The other sensor is the 15 PSI low oil pressure switch that drives the low oil light in the dash, and relay K11 that controls alternator excitation after the oil pressure opens that switch when running…

    M1078 Trans filters

Define overheating? How are you determining/measuring that heat? Is it storing any codes? when you drain and refill the oil there is still a considerable amount of oil left in the torque converter and galleries, cooling hoses and cooler and maybe some in the transfer case scavenger pump...

Gauges and Sending Units Caterpillar/ M1078

The gauges are 24V for their operational/sensing circuits, but use 12V lighting… in the case of the oil pressure, I am assuming this is on an A0 truck, it is a stewart warner sensor. 506AZ… Again, assuming this is an A0, there is one main engine harness connector down along the drivers frame rail…

    Interesting M1078 Cab Hydraulic Problem

If the tire lift raises and lowers fine but the cab does not, and when you remove the return line it moves OK, I would suspect the restricted orifice in the cab control valve is fouled. If you remove the handle and unscrew the valve the restrictor is screwed into the core of the valve. Its an...

    Poe Man's 1:1 hubs

Same stress, but less frequent, as it is only really restrained by the clutch in mode when you would have a wheel in a place to slip...

    Poe Man's 1:1 hubs

Like I said in the other posting, this will keep the center diff clutch under constant stress in mode, and Lincoln locking the hubs involves more than just cranking up the welder… I am curious how that guy took the inner fixed gear out of the equation but still retained its function of...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Uuuh dont think I would do any of that… First off the rear DS is not direct drive out of the transfer case. The trans output thru 3 large gears drives the planetary carrier of the center diff. The sun drives one pinion and the ring drives another pinion. The carrier spins the whole planetary...

Possible missing Bolt on plate at connection between engine and trans

Thats the bell housing drain hole… the plug for it is seen screwed into its storage location. Unscrew the plug, and screw it into the open hole when you expect to be in deep water…

    Torque rating

I don’t think I misunderstood anything:) Not quite sure why you drug EPA into it, but the simple fact remains mechanical fuel injection is not self correcting, and without the proper tools to gauge changes, you can drive it out of balance and ultimately over fuel and cause damage, same as any...

    Airlift/tie down bar steel grade

I agree, I am sure it is decent quality steel, but probably nothing special, get what you can, or better still, find something to use it on and build it into a project instead of buying new… They do make handy hammock attach points…

    Torque rating

I would be surprised to see any engine or engine compartment made after 1980 that didn't have some kind of EPA sticker, not that it was difficult to get that sticker for a diesel then, as the requirements were not difficult, and basically the engine achieved the standards naturally/thru normal...

    Torque rating

Well if you already know all this why are you bothering to ask these questions... You do realize what happens to engine manufacturers whos engines fail to meet performance and longevity goals right? Expensive recalls and class action lawsuits. Which is why they actually proof them with...

    Torque rating

Yea, good luck getting your A0 to operate at 195 unless it is really warm out, as they had cat alter the cooling system for the A0, and not in a good way to maintain a steady temp(Youtube user Rronmar, i have a video there of the changes I have made to get a stable op temp) All manufacturers...
