    Securing a HMMWV

Can someone post a pic of where they think the best place to locate the battery disconnect switch is?

    Securing a HMMWV

From what I understand, the keyed start switch requires that the original hole be drilled larger. Correct me if I'm wrong, but since that would mean that you can never go back to using the original switch, it's a no go for me. I'll get the door locks and lockable kill switch.

    Humvee floor holes

Good idea. No need to get all scientific. I'll use tape.

    Humvee floor holes

Went muddin the other day and noticed a lot came up through the floorboards. Not a big deal, but I'd like to at least protect the battery compartment (see pic). Anyone seen a solution for this?

Rear Halfshaft to Geared Hub Leak

Great advice, thanks. I'm going through the TMs now to determine the part numbers needed. Is TM 9-2320-335-13&P the best one to use?

Rear Halfshaft to Geared Hub Leak

Just noticed the rear halfshaft is seeping. Fulled it up with Gear Oil but planning to take a closer look this weekend. Anyone got a suggestion for the part numbers for seals, etc. I should buy to prepare for the job? Thanks,

    M998 Wait Light Quick Flash

Here's what I have (Nartron box). The problem only occurs when cold, so it seems the glow plugs are not heating up.

    M998 Wait Light Quick Flash

The only thing that happened out of the ordinary recently is the other day, it was raining heavily and the truck wouldn't start. I attempted starting it several times, sometimes holding the switch in the Start position for 10-15 seconds. White smoke would blow out the exhaust pipe, but the motor...

    Awesome.

    M998 Wait Light Quick Flash

Ok, I will test em. Strange though, as they only have 200 miles on them. Truck has been sitting on a base for 8 years though, so things are bound to happen with that long period of non-use. If glow plugs test fine, I was thinking it could be a wiring short or something like that...

    M998 Wait Light Quick Flash

Just noticed a new problem on the Humvee. When switching from stop to run on a cold morning, the Glow Plug Wait Light just flashes quickly, whereas before it would stay lit for a few seconds, until the plugs were warmed up. I wait several seconds anyway, and the truck starts up fine, but am...

    Securing a HMMWV

Would something like this be a good way to secure the vehicle? Locking the Parking Brake in the Up position....

Pickup Needed: Sacramento area to Salt Lake area

I am looking for someone who can make a run from Antioch, CA to Saratoga Springs, Utah. The item is less than 500lbs and just needs to be secured on a flatbed (HMMWV Hardtop Roof Kit). Send me a PM if you can make the run in the next few weeks. Thanks!

    HMMWV directional tires right?

Interesting... So I took the 200lb wheel & tire to five major tire shops in my area to find out if I can (and should) reverse the tread, some national chains. Four of them said they can't do it. Some said it'll break their equipment. One (Quality Tire, who mainly does commercial tires) said they...

    HMMWV directional tires right?

Makes sense... And probably quite effective against recent enemies.

    HMMWV directional tires right?

Nice truck. So if there is no directional arrow on the sidewall, is it safe to say they're non-directional? In your reference picture, the tire tread is pointed in opposite directions, which is actually how I see most of the HMMWV's. Driver side pointing toward the rear and passenger toward...

    HMMWV directional tires right?

HMMWV Tires - Directional or Non-Directional? Hello, Humvee tires are described often as non-directional, but they have the tread points going in one direction. Are they still non-directional, even though the points could face different directions?

    Optima battery holders

No tie-downs? I was thinking of using the same batteries, but am hoping the original bracket would somehow work.
