    On my trucks the short end is the tank it's on. The long end is the handle to turn it. But yours may be put on wrong.

    It maybe Algae in the fuel, I would clean the lines and change all the filters. Try and use some Diesel Kleen in the fuel.

    You are right the starter for the NHC250 is not the same as for the 8.3L The starter for the 8.3 and M35A2 are the same. I have one for sale if you need one. PM if your interested.

    Just use a propane torch, will not get hot enough to hurt the metal.

    If you put the Races in the Freezer before hand and heat up the hub a little it will be very easy to put them in by hand.
