My LMTV is through State farm as a truck. I've already explained that it will become an RV and they said just send us photos and description when the time comes and they'll cover it.

    Nice high capacity winches, 24v!

Project farm which is an excellent YouTube channel you should check out if you haven't already, has just reviewed several brands of approximately 12,000 lb capacity winches including Warn, Badland, and super winch. The results may surprise you a bit! if you aren't already a fan of his channel...

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

Yeah after just a couple weeks of rain I went to drive mine and it wouldn't move! Went around the truck with a hammer smacking on the brakes giving love taps around the rim of each drum. Got inside and gave it a bit more gas and then a couple popping sounds and then it went. Everything has...

    2022 SoCal Spring Rally

I can still probably get the weekend for my friends 1sq mile ranch in Ocotillo Wells near the Ocotillo Wells airport (More like a tiny airstrip on a salt flat). There are no services of any kind (no water, electricity or restrooms) but there is cell service there now. It's full of off-roading...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I think that the only difference between the intermediate and rear axle lies in the differential components. I'm going to check the part numbers later but I think everything outside of the pumpkin is the same

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

You mean 3.4 not 3.9? Or is that common core math! ;)

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

That's actually what I was thinking of asking earlier today. Where the vehicle knows it speed from and apparently looks like it's the transmission. Because I believe various modes limit you based upon speed and tire pressure

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

And how much weight you've got loaded into it when you test those!

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Would be interested to know the results of towing, up hills, and mpg now. How much would a set for an M1083 be? 100 miles over a mountain and into the desert, 45 miles off-roading in the badlands, and 100 miles back, I got 4.4 mpg, emptied the 54 gallon tank!

Was there a final correct answer on the LM/FMTVs being EMP proof ????

From what I remember of reading and watching various things, The 3116 trucks that were all mechanical are EMP proof at least as far as the motor was concerned. Not so sure about the transmission if that has a computer to control it since it does have that fancy little number pad control module.
