I'm just going back with stock spec springs on mine. Keeps my head from spinning about all the other options.

    Truck-Lite LED Headlights----Finally Ordered a set.

Above two threads are correct. Do NOT forget to lube the bucket tabs that have already been mentioned. Without grease, which is what I used, the new plastic adjustment seats will strip out in about one/two turns. Makes all the difference!!

    Truck-Lite LED Headlights----Finally Ordered a set.

Excellent valid point. I will wait. I am loving the new lights!

M978 - Wildland Tactical Water Tender Conversion

How well do those trucks perform at altitude when loaded? I've never even sat in one so I have no idea how these perform. They do look good red.

    Truck-Lite LED Headlights----Finally Ordered a set.

Ordering two more sets for my two CUCVs that are in long term storage. Will not install right away, but at least I will have them.

    1986 M1009 - Fuel problem/Injection pump maybe?

All of the CUCVs seem to have fuel tank cleanliness issues when purchased from the government. Almost all sat idle for years before being sold. Agree with doing fuel filter changes, along with checking/replacing tank pickup sock. Run some SeaFoam, or whatever you prefer, fuel system cleaner...

    M1008 rear wheel cylinder

Just call the parts store. See what they show. Do not mention it's a former military truck. M1008 is just a 1984 Chevy K30 with a few military tweaks.

    New guy from Oklahoma

While I hate to see any cucv get chopped on, you do very nice work and take the time needed and use excellent parts. I flew over that area last week and thought I saw your truck. Didn't have time to circle around. Just like everyone else, I wish I could weld like that! Nice job on the...

    M101A2 axle capacity

That Axle and components are heavier than that as you already pointed out. Brakes alone point to a 7k Axle. Kinda surprises me that they were not very helpful with that number. Dexter is a great company and is always helpful. At least they tried. Thanks for the info

    M101A3 mods for Jeep/off road

I just bought a brand new set of Dexter "FreeBack" complete brake assembly's. Exact fit and includes the parking brake function. This allows backing up a fully loaded trailer without having to lock out the surge brake. They will be installed on the daily ranch duty M101A2. I still love the...

    M101A3 mods for Jeep/off road

I don't have any M1101/2's so I can't answer that. Both the A2/3 are about the same price as the 1101/2's now. I will stick to the older A2/3

    Voltmeter died

You can sometimes find an original on eBay or SS classifieds. Most ive seen look like hammered junk. Last time I looked, a seller in Europe had brand new ones for $200 US. Not worth it for me. Alternatives have already been discussed in this thread.

    1008 stock replacement front springs

Look at the cucv forum. Your answer is about 7 or so topics down. Several choices Depends on what you want to spend. Stock is 3 leaf. Triangle Spring makes the best quality springs. They are ISO approved. I'm installing a set of them this summer.

    M101A3 mods for Jeep/off road

A couple in a jeep approached me while I was at the hardware store. My M101A2 was behind my CUCV. They said they had been looking for a trailer just like mine. They asked questions, but already knew they didn't want anything wider than the jeep itself. They were nice and made me a good offer...

    'father' of 'twins'...

Congrats on the win! The prices on A2's have been going up and that batch in Ohio didn't go cheap. You will absolutely love the trailers. I use mine almost everyday and am still amazed on just how tough and versatile they are. No matter how they look, check everything! If new brake or...
