Do NOT forget to lube the bucket tabs that have already been mentioned.
Without grease, which is what I used, the new plastic adjustment seats will strip out in about one/two turns.

All of the CUCVs seem to have fuel tank cleanliness issues when purchased from the government.
Almost all sat idle for years before being sold.
Agree with doing fuel filter changes, along with checking/replacing tank pickup sock.
Run some SeaFoam, or whatever you prefer, fuel system cleaner...
While I hate to see any cucv get chopped on, you do very nice work and take the time needed and use excellent parts.

That Axle and components are heavier than that as you already pointed out.
Brakes alone point to a 7k Axle.
Kinda surprises me that they were not very helpful with that number.

I just bought a brand new set of Dexter "FreeBack" complete brake assembly's.
Exact fit and includes the parking brake function.
This allows backing up a fully loaded trailer without having to lock out the surge brake.

The prices on A2's have been going up and that batch in Ohio didn't go cheap.
