Synthetic tends to have better cold flow characteristics. I run Amsoil 15w40. 5k changes. 25k miles and zero issues but I'm running a C7.
I have run into several references to 3126B applications (RV's for example) calling for 10w30...... Perhaps this was in part for the HEUI pump? No clue if...
Ah ok. That was most likely Will M. He is a member here and on the Facebook groups. If you message him here or on Facebook he will give you a better deal because eBay doesn't get 20%.
Ya gotta ask till you get acquainted with our community. 😭
You do lose a bit of cred if you don't fly out and drive your purchase home. That's one of the best parts of the purchase and you only get one shot at that rodeo. (Per truck :sneaky:)
It's a bit like this - if you can't get it home (and it isn't off-shore or a basket case pile of poop that...
This is the kit for the PCU:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266900579750?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=t8XMcCsnTCW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=P_2U40P_QI2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
The only way that can happen (all four tires dump to wheel valve minimum), is for there to be air pressure in the control line from the PCU to the QRV's. Which means the spool valves in the PCU are sticking and letting wet tank air get into the control line keeping it at some pressure above the...
That is correct. The military had component level breakdowns for the later 900 series but decided to service the PCU as a complete assembly on the FMTV as it was too involved to have troops rebuilding them.
Same situation with the air compressor, third members, transmissions, and lots of other...
You can swap the elbow and the CTIS valve assembly without losing much air. These tires hold A LOT of it and it takes a bit for it to dump out that little tube.
OR you can do the bottle jack and complete deflate method. No one in the military does that. We just hot swap them.
They are supposed to have that unthreaded section - that is what the CTIS elbow seals against because there's no shrader core used if the wheel valve is installed and it needs that smooth area above the threads to seal with an o-ring inside the elbow. You have to push it past the seal to get the...
Getting more expensive by the month it seems like. Paid $43k for my late A1R and recently 1078 A1R cargo's in good shape are fetching $65k. I would expect M1079's to be between $35k on the A0 side, to $75k on the later A1R side. And the extra money is worth every penny when you compare the two...
Air ride has to be supplied from the pressure protection valve off the wet tank so a leak will not endanger the brake air pressure. That is how the system is designed so if you re-route the lines to the air-bridge just make sure it originates from the PPV.
Here's some pics I found from the 3126B pump I managed to "take apart"
It is also a swash-plate piston design. Just REALLY puny and sad looking.
Negative. That is the C7 style pump (probably used on the E variant). The B pump looks nothing like that. It's much smaller (probably half that size) and the piston cylinder block is yellow metal. That thing looks like a beast compared to the 3126B pump - which looks like a childs toy inside.
Is that for like an Ambo or something? The up-armored HMMWV uses a dual evaporator system but is engine driven. At least for two and four man versions.
If you have a NIIN I can possibly determine what it was intended for.
How old is it and what is it's BTU rating and amperage draw? Likely will...
The cylinder is bolt on. The reinforcement kit uses self tapping sheet metal screws and it's all done from underneath.
Except - in my case the cab sheet metal was already starting to wrinkle and deflect and I had to use a porta-power and some massaging from above - drilled a hole in the floor...
Guessing it's due to more accurately regulated pressure as requested by the ECM. Accuracy and response time.
The HEUI pump (very conveniently) has NO timing! You just plop the pump in there and crank her up. 🤷♂️
That is what has happened with every one I've encountered. It's immediate and dramatic. Change pump - problem gone. Search me as to why?!?
We need to catch us a CAT engineer and ply him with alcohol and my custom brownies...... he'll talk.
