Due to it's relative proximity to our LZ, I have often watched auctions at Holloman AFB and the adjacent White Sands Missile Test Range. NASA has had a long standing presence there and some very interesting MVs used by them have been auctioned complete with the classic NASA logos.
Holloman was...
Should we put a cap on the 5-Ton Forum to stop at 9.999-Tons?
Should we also limit this thread to 10-Ton ~ 19.999-Tons?
Should we then create yet another thread for 20-Ton & Up? Or should it also have an upper limit?
WHERE WILL IT END ?!?!?
Additional sub-threads for Green, Tan, Woodland Camo...
Life around here has been extraordinarily busy - bordering on crazy - lately and I have little time to work on our "yet to get running" recently acquired XM818 Semi-Tractor.
However, last evening, between an afternoon thundershower and sunset I was able to squeeze just a little time into...
TRAILER vs. SEMI-TRAILER
Technically speaking, a TRAILER is a towed vehicle which bears MOST of its own weight and the weight of its LOAD on it's own load-bearing axles. IE: a load "balanced" on one or more axles "centered" under the carriage - OR - as with M989 type Ammunition Trailers, an...
I pulled an XM-818 Tractor home (130 miles) behind an M35A2 Deuce using a Medium Tow Bar.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND this combination ! ! !
The HEAVIER 5-Ton wanted to push the tail end of the Deuce from side to side even thought he west Texas roads were all mostly straight and level. Even with about...
The term BACKUP CAMERA has always baffled me.
Can someone PLEASE explain to me where the PRIMARY CAMERA is on the Deuce???
I have never been able to locate one.
Thank you.
 [thumbzup] rofl 2cents
So glad you're biting your tongue.
The root problem was NOT with the FORD !!!
It was a BOLT in the tire. A BOLT that could have come out of ANY MAKE of vehicle.
We did no forensic testing- it could have been English or Metric thread/size.
Tonight's Roadside Pit Stop....
As we gathered for this evening's Bible Study, the Group Leader suffered a flat tire on his pickup within a quarter mile of the church.
Thankfully, being Memorial Day weekend I had parked the car and minivan and we've been using the Deuce with Old Glory waving...
YOU, Sir, have just raised the bar over which all of us who follow must now also clear.
Single-handedly YOU have taken this green iron disease to a new level. High is simply NOT what it used to be. Stratospheric would be closer to correct for your achievement.
Carry on..... And thank you for...
Looks like discussion of this event begins with Post #81 in this thread:
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?124151-PNW-6TH-Annual-Chehalis-River-Valley-M-V-Convoy-and-Campout/page9
Seems to be an ANNUAL, rather than a Year-specific, kind of thread.
Hope that helps.
I'm in San Angelo, and could ride along with a Texas Convoy intercepting it in any of the more major cities in about 100 mile-radius of my LZ. (i.e.: Abiline (I-20)to the north; Brownwood (NE); Brady (East); Ozona or Sonora (I-10) South; or Midland (West) ) It all depends on the inbound and...
Prior to applying POWER to the STARTER, insert these two steps into your test procedure sequence.....
1. Get on your knees.
2. Pray.
Then, apply power while continuing in prayer.
Carry on.
I'm curious......
Although I try not to dilute State-specific threads with comments or comparisions of other States' Laws and Regulations, I just have to ask:
Does Arizona, like Texas, include any SPECIFIC PROHIBITIONS of COMMERICIAL USE of vehicles registered as "Antique", "Classic", or "FMV"...
Hi, my name is John and I've had algae in a deuce fuel tank.
(and the group says: "Hi, John!")
After searching and researching these forums about the problem, I replaced all three fuel filters, scrubbed and 'disinfected' the filter cans with carb cleaner, and added SEAFOAM (available at most...
