All older switches don't self cancel. My first semi that has self cancelling turn signals is a 2013 Freightliner. I was very happy when I found that out.I drove a 2010 for 2 years that didn't. I didn't think it was SO hard to put such an easy convenience into a big truck!!
If it's an A1 you may want to replace the o-rings on the pump primer before you do the filter change. It's only 2 o-rings that should only cost a buck and will help you out tremendously in the priming portion of the filter change. Good luck, and congrats on the 5 ton!
My M923 had the turn signal switch replaced somewhere in time, and the new switch is pretty difficult to manipulate to the proper position. It's a (most times) 2 handed job.
I went to O'reilly's and basically found the about size for the orings, They didn't have all of them specifically the high temp rings So I went to Napa and they had what O'reilly's didn't.Just ask for the entire oring box, that has every seal in it and you can match them up pretty well. The only...
I successfully rebuilt my fan clutch actuator valve! I was really worried about it since everything seems to be going wrong, but I set the valve in almost boiling water, then watched the valve open and supplied compressed air@ 20 psi, then 40 and finally 60 and everything worked as should so I'm...
When my truck was operational I decided to throw the front axle switch just to see what happened and all I got was a bunch of air bleeding off into the intake stack. I'm sure this isn't natural. I have looked through the TM's but haven't yet come across this problem. I'm sure I will need the...
Scar, Not exactly. Inside of the larger end is a tiny o-ring. I was asking if there is a way to remove the cap and replace it. After looking at it closer (magnifier) It appears to be crimped on. SO no removal. But appreciate it anyway.
I'm currently working on this myself. A couple questions. I took the air lines to and from off the actuator and started the truck. I then took my air hose and blew some air into the fan clutch and it worked. Thank God! All kinds of dust and debris blew out from the radiator, SO I know it hasn't...
I do apologize for not listing my truck, and I do thank you Mules for adding that into the title, but with that being said I still feel that there is a complete disconnect in this community from those that have served and those that have not. I truly appreciate those that have, but I also feel...
That is the reason I keep asking the dumb ?'s for those that are thin skinned, that worry about what the community thinks ! I personally could give 2 rats a$$ about what people think of me. I'm just trying to get an answer to my question without all the added BS!
Yeah, I did as the TM's say to do. I did dump the system of air including the heater box. Thanks for making me sound like a moron! I would also like to say that I have received PM's and have heard of others that PM'd others about they are afraid to ask anything because they don't want this...
It's an 84' M923A1. No this is the only thread I've started pertaining to my cooling issues. No, The coolant level was 1-2 gallons low on fluid when these issues arose. I topped the surge tank off and then noticed that the gauge wasn't working properly. At the same time I noticed that the...
As the title states I have had a nightmare recently with the cooling system. I first installed a block heater which leaked, then replaced with a better version. Then the thermostat was bad so I replaced that. Next was the temp sending unit, which of course leaked (Memphis Equipment Company is a...
The wiring schematic is in Appendix H of TM9-2320-272-24-4. I just had to run down the same wiring myself since my motor fried. I know it was seized, because I had to use a large screwdriver to free the fan. I do know that the low side is 12v and the high 24v.Looking at the schematic, 1 wire in...
I was hoping it's camping, mudding, off roading, and a fair amount of beer drinking by a camp fire at night! I will hopefully have a few friends join me with their ATV's.
