I know Avis pickups don't. I don't think the rental companies have hitches on their pickups. I know I looked into renting a pickup back a couple of months ago to get my M1101 from Hooks. I ended up using my minvan.
I've wanted one for a while. I've even kicked around the idea of turning one of my deuces into one. I know my wife and I see one on the side of the road just sitting every time we go to visit her Granny. She always says how she feels bad and wishes we will rescue it. One of these days I'll...
I would say do a search because there are several different ways folks have done it. I would say do what you can afford and what you feel comfortable doing. I am adding a separate 12 volt alternator with battery, just for 12 volt stuff.
I got a couple more little things done this evening. I replaced the side marker lenses, tail light lenses, and front clear lenses with new ones from LMC. Just some cosmetic stuff. I plan on changing the transmission filter next weekend before I put new fluid in there along with a few other...
Sweet!!! I had the same thing in mind but unfortunately putting faith and trust in others to help doesn't always work out. At the moment my similar build is on hold, if it even happens. Good thing you had some folks you could count on :)
Well it came to life today!!! I feel like its Christmas!!! I still have some door seals and what not but the major question has been answered and that was will it start and run. I guess I'll get back out there in a few and complete some more items on my list. It just sucks when it is 105 out.
I wasn't 100% sure on my statement about where it came off the battery. Thanks for correcting me DH. I apologize if I led anyone stray. Here is a picture of where I landed mine. It is circled.
There is a 12 volt terminal right by the Glow Plug relay on the firewall. I just crimped a lug on the end of the positive wire for the CB and landed it there. I also crimped a lug on the negative wire and landed it to ground in the cab. That 12 volt terminal comes straight off the positive of...
Well the last couple of days I have spent close to $300 on fluids, filters, and a few misc. parts. I just got done replacing the CDR, the dry rotted vacuum hoses that I found the other day, replaced the air filter, and put the front seats in. Hopefully by Sunday, I'll get to fire it up :)
:) I was actually looking in that TM this morning. aua I guess I just wasn't looking hard enough. I knew I could count on you to hook me up. Once again THANKS.
I just bought a filter for my transmission. I figured on changing it since all fluids were drained before I got it from GL. I'm hoping some one could point point me to the TM that shows changing it out so (hopefully) I don't have any issues afterwards.
I bypassed my glow plug resistors and mounted the CB. I did discover some dry rotted hoses that will be getting replaced next. I will eventually get it all put back together and running.
You don't happen to have pictures of this? I've noticed when it has rained here that I have a leak up front by the side vents. I just haven't taken the time to see exactly where it is coming from.
