    1988 m35a2c

Welcome to the '88 club! Did yours also have a flight-line signal sticker on the dash or glove box area? Basically it tells you what to do for certain signals when out on the flight-line.

Same year as mine. That's a USAF truck (you can tell by the flapper on the exhaust). The USAF maintains their trucks very well, so this one is probably in exceptional shape. I know mine looks like it never left the base, and never left the tarmac. Note that the later years USAF trucks have...

is there any power steering options for 2.5 other than ....

I'm doing the M-35Tom approach on mine. Use a 5-ton steering column/shaft...it has the u-joint built in (plus a smaller wheel). Get the hydro pump off of a multi-fuel 5-ton, a reservoir (got mine off of a cummins powered 900 series), a Saginaw 710 box, some plumbing, welding (frame...

    OA331 fuel pump replacement

Summit Racing sells several universal electric fuel pumps. Here's one for $38.00 http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=MRG%2D12S&N=700+115&autoview=sku It flows 35Gph at 4psi. That should be enough to hold an OA331. They have a few others that have mounting brackets...

    Value of M66 Ring Mount

Not to hijack the thread....but assuming one had the legs/u-bolts (ahem!), how much would just a ring typically go for (assuming it had all the parts, and spins freely)?

    B29 R3350 ENGINE NOS 4 SALE.

Hmm...I wonder if the folks at the Tillamook Air museum would want that motor. They have a flying Martin Mauler AM-1 there...uses the 3350 (not sure what configuration though). One mean single-engine fighter bomber. Please do give them a call...I believe you can find them at...

    Deuce tranny oil?

...that didn't come out right. What I meant to say is that going with a good GL-1 should be fine (that's what the military used). Going with a newer GL-4 or GL-5 (with MT-1 rating) will work but you are paying extra for a better lube that will not make a big difference in the transmission...

    Deuce tranny oil?

http://www.finalube.com/reference_material/API_Automotive_Gear_Lubricant_Service_Categories.htm MT-1 This designation denotes lubricants intended for non-synchronized manual transmissions in heavy-duty services. Lubricants meeting MT-1 contain thermal stability and extreme pressure additives...

    ever hear of this?

This stuff shows up on some of the other diesel sites from time to time. I file it under snake-oil and move on.

You just missed a NOS one on ebay...by hours. Here's another one that looks a bit rough but could be fixed up. Search for auction 310018894082.

    M35A2C

Yes..and it makes zero sense for stuff like cargo trucks, but such are the times we live in. Just a suggestion...see if you can find one up in Norway...there are a bunch of them up there and many of them have factory locking differentials (rare for the US trucks). You might also be able to get...

    Turbo classification...?

Re: C & D Here's a pic of the turbo in my LDS equipped deuce. Note that there is no wastegate, but this *is* the turbo that came with the "crate" engine they swapped in. Note that they had to slightly "engineer" some of the exhaust to make the 5-ton motor fit right. This appears to be an...

    M35A2C

Looks just like mine! :) (no really...it's like a twin!) Note the flapper on the exhaust...looks like it's maybe an Air Force truck. They tend to be in great condition...probably never made it off of the base. I do like that pintle hitch on the front bumper...hmm. [thumbzup]
