    Dump Conversion

The second pic from the bottom shows the top of the tank. Pump, valve, and tank are all one piece. There is a 1" shaft coming out the front of the tank, it drives the pump inside. Here is a pic of just the tank. Yes, 8 degrees.... and dropping to 0 tonight, and 4-8 inches of snow tomorrow...

    Dump Conversion

Okay, still working on this project, just been busy. REALLY cold out tonight, was 8 degrees when I was working on it. I did modify one crossmember slightly, just cut and bent the edge of one down some, and welded. Got the pto, pto driveshaft, and hydrualic pump installed. Was going to...

    Tranmission problem

Thanks for the offer bomar, I would have ya come up just for the heck of it. If I get help, I might feel inclined to return the favor! Lets just say I have WAY too much going on right now, hopefully I am only a couple of days away from getting the dump done. Hey I may have to delete some...

    Tranmission problem

Not sure if that is the root cause or not. I know exactly when it broke, I was just driving normally, and lost a gear. True, during the burnout, I used 3rd, and I powered up some, but I didn't just floor it and drop the clutch. If anything, I abused the clutch by slipping it some. O well not...

    Tranmission problem

Brgm was right, I pulled the driveshaft off the back of the tranny, hub, and bearing housing. Slid the mainshaft back, and was able to take the gears of the shaft without pulling it out of the tranny. I was wrong about the placement of the snap ring, it goes in front of 5th gear. Went to the...

    Pull off's

Whatever you do, don't do it on pavement. My bus is a 1800 international, and I snapped a driveshaft pulling on pavement. Deuce has 6.00 first, 2 to 1 low range, and a 6.72 axle. That would be a total reduction of 90.3 to 1 Grain truck, 7.00 first, 2 to 1 2-speed rear end(guessing here)...

    Tranmission problem

Pulled away from a stoplight a while ago and could not find 3rd gear. Figured out how to shift the truck into 3rd, but it would pop out when slowing down. 5th also devolped some play. So 2 months later I pulled the cover off the tranny to check it out. No play in the shifter, and the shift...

    Pull off's

Loadstar 1700? single axle? You outwiegh and have more driving axles. Just hook that big honking chain, put her in low transfer, first gear, and have your way with him. Disclaimer... I would not advise anyone to pull against another truck, bad things could happen... :)

    Swapping a PTO

PTO port on the transmission, or transfer case? Stock PTO, on transmission, for winch, you need to drain some oil out. When I was installing a rear output PTO on mine, I had a container to catch the oil, looks like about a gallon came out. Compare the height of the fill plug with the height...

    AIR COMPRESSOR?

I have a direct drive oil-less compresser, and an OLD single stage, belt drive compresser. The direct drive is LOUD. The old single stage is cast iron, appox. 40 years old, and runs great. Already had to work on the direct drive a few years ago, the one I have doesn't hold up under moderate...

    M45 Compressor truck

Be sure to check the air tank for the compresser before firing it up. Hate to see it blow up because the tank was rusty or cracked. That is some serious rust, where was this stored, in a salt bath  ? Dennis

    Desert Rat Sighting

Here's a pic of me pulling into the steelsoldiers rally earlier this year, camper in tow. Also had the jeep hid in the back of the deuce. Not sure if people were staring at the duece, or a deuce pulling a camper down the highway. Dennis

    potential problems with e-loan?

Nobody can cross reference the vin on a deuce. Mine is says it is a 1 ton jeep on the title, since it was made by kiaser-jeep corporation. Not sure how eloan works, I would try and buy it anyways and hope they don't know what a deuce is. Most people have no clue what a M35 is. Dennis

    Mirror wanted

Anyone have a rear view mirror that attaches to the windshield? How much? Thanks Dennis

    hopefully not a dumb question

I thought they were handholds for crawling under the duece.... I have spent a lot of time under mine!

    Dump Conversion

Well after many hours of work this weekend, I got the lift installed. The upper part of the lift is just tack welded for now, waiting for a friend to arc weld it. Figured I would let someone who knows what they are doing for the heavy welding, I haven't welding with an arc welder since high...
