I have a 1953 with theR6602 and I was wondering if the LDS 465 was a difficult swap.

I had a good welder make me a set of 12' ramps, he put a leg in the middle so that the ramps won't flex too far when the weight is on them. I haven't used them yet but I think I'll winch the jeep up the first time. I also had him make a short set to run from my trailer to the deuce.

RE: cool... I try to drive mine between 60 and 65. When I go over 65 fuel consumption goes up and I want to keep the MPG over 20.

RE: I have the same problem? I would say disassemble your switch for a look see. Mine was obviously burnt on the right side. I was hoping for some corrosion I could clean up but that wasn't the case.

RE: Re: RE: Turn signal problem Mine weren't working on the right side either. Everything else was working. Took my switch apark and the circuit board was fried for the right side. To bad the switch isn't designed so you could replace that board.

My turn signals have gone out twice now. 1st time it was the flasher. Last week it was the switch. I think I need to be more careful/diligent about turning them off. They seem to get hot pretty fast.

I just got my M1009 last spring from a wildlife refuge. I took it on a trip up to Seattle from just south of Portland hauled about 400lbs back, got stuck in some traffic but ran 90% freeway. Got exactly 20mph. Its all stock. The speedo was right on with the speedo checks.

What is the cooling system capacity on the 5 ton gasser? I wanted to add some soluable oil and I can't get the tech manual on this site to open for me. Thanks, Greg

Good Maintenance is crucial, but a little luck doesn't hurt either. I have one with 2500 miles on it. The compensator might be leaking diesel back into the crankcase, because I detected a diesel oder when I changed oil. But the oil pressure is very good.
