RE: Re: RE: FCC drops morse code requirement for HF ham radi
I don't have time to study the Morse part of the exam (Element 1), but now I know I can probably pass Element 2 without too much problem and upgrade to General. There always will be a need for Morse operators, and portions of the...
Looks like you have your work cut out for you with that trailer. I doubt she could be a show queen, but she'll haul some stuff around without too much fuss. Here's some parts:

Good deal on parts? Hmm. Sometime ham radio meets you can find good parts for cheap, but could be hit or miss when it comes to military stuff. Two dealers I'd recommend for mil radio are:

and

They are not really cheap, but they do...
Don't feel bad - happens to all of us. We get a few good laughs in, and it becomes part of history. No biggie.
Your red paint job, however, we'll make fun of for years. :)
These are really nice trailers - I'm trying to convince my buddy near me who just bought a M37 for the first time to get a pioneer tool trailer as a camping setup for his new rig.
Coleman's up in PA still have about 6 for $500 ea, no title.
Up till now I have been using ImackShack, but the service is starting to get slow and unreliable. Anyone recommend an EASY, FREE picture hosting service out there on the web? Thanks,
There are lots of non-"M" standard vehicles that got bought by the military and given data plates, up through the 1970s. I remember seeing an IH Scout on eGay not too long ago that had a military data plate.
If you are into military radios, there are a lot of aircraft type radio gear that runs on 400hz. You can use it to power your aircraft radios. Ham radio operators that are into the WWII and 1950s-1960s ARC-5, ART-13s, BC-648s, ARC-58s, and other rigs would love to have this genset.
Man, that looks cool. I like the whole quad cab idea - makes a better rig for hauling a bunch of friends to vehicle shows, etc. Needs a wide front bumper though. The one on it looks a little thin, the front wheels and suspension would take a beating if you hit something.
Found these parts in my travels to misc military junkyards. What are they?
From top left:
1. fuel pump of some sort
2. HEAVY lifting shackle of an unknown type
3. gas can thingy.
